And Rosalie is in for Renee.
LN1: The Bangles.
LN2 (Literally): Chernobyl.

Lives in the Balance is kinda LN, but not as LN as his 2005 remake of it.

...and if this set ends up sounding like Acoustic Sunrise, we may be able to gauge how much influence the DJ has.

well I was right about the year and I also predicted that the new (less labor-intensive) 10@10 would make it easier for fill-in hosts to slip in and out.

And I'm sure Rosalie is playing whatever songs had already been pre-selected for Renee to play.

Weird stuff. Every now and then it sounds like John Malkovich.

LN+BOS/Bruce Hornsby & the Range - "The Way It Is."
Perfect song to radio alarm clock wake up to.

Somehow, just before the Moody Blues, a Buster Posey home run clip was played.  Christine on the 'snipes justified it as Buster was born in '87, so conceieved in '86.   ;D

LN+BOS combo2 Pet Shop Boys, although a deeper track could have legitimately made this set above average.

BOS5 Mike & the Mechanics - Silent Running.  I know we got this one with Dave, but I don't recall AL playing it.

Billy Joel comes up with a rarity, but not a song I'm fond of.

I like that quote that Qadafi is not only a barbarian, he's flaky. That's a serious charge there, Mr. President!

No love for Silent Running, though at least we got to hear the long intro.

2. Jackson Browne - Lives In The Balance
3. The Art of Noise - Paranoimia
4. Moody Blues - Your Wildest Dreams
5. Bruce Hornsby and the Range - The Way It Is
6. The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
7. Falco - Rock Me Amadeus
8. Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
(Movie: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Let's steal a Ferrari.)
9. Billy Joel - A Matter Of Trust
(News: Reagan calls Muammar Gaddafi flaky)
10. Mike and the Mechanics - Silent Running

Rosalie asked for BOS votes on FB. Some guy voted for... Toto? WTF?

Good/Necessary rankings:

1 B+/D
2 A-/C
3 C/B+
4 C/C
5 A/C (yeah it was a #1, but it's not one I hear very often anymore)
6 A/A-
7 B/B+
8 B/D
9 B/B
10 B/A

Hmmm... not a single uber-LN.... 4 number ones (1,5,7,8), two sorta-AAA standbys (2,4), a couple of other Top Tens that don't get much play nowadays (9,10), one novelty minor top 40 (3), plus the Smiths. 1986 was always a bad year for Dave, so this isn't TOO bad.

However, I don't like the in-and-out host thing, as annoying as "classics" were.

I would put the Bangles, Hornsby and PSBs in the category. Moodies too, for that matter. But then I'm cranky.

My Radical Ra(n)tings:

1 B/D
2 D+/C+
3 A-/A
4 D/C
5 A/C-
6 B+/B+
7 B/B
8 A/F
9 B-/A-
10 A/A

Yeah, nothing horrible and enough bright spots.
These past few weeks, on average we've gotten a real rarity or two per set.  This isn't out of sync with Dave near the end.  Just trade Moreytrinas for #1s.
It lacked flow, though.  This is what happens when you split 10@10 between 3 people.
Regarding the guest host thing, I wonder if this means we won't get "classics" anymore.
