VHM: Waterfalls. A little R&B never hurt anyone.

From what I gather, we have:

The Presidents Of The United States Of America
"You Oughta Know" (Alanis)
Oasis
"Waterfalls", TLC

Not too shabby.

Fixed yer typo.

This song in particular was annoying. The opening was directly lifted from some song I couldn't place. So my mind kept jumping between two contexts, quite jarring.

Tribute is one thing, but it doesn't have to be so annoying.

Whiny brits is one genre I can't stand. C.f. "Yellow", Cold Play.

I'm witcha. I could not for the life of me understand what the hoopla about Coldplay was when all they had out was "Yellow". That song is not good.

I'll give a BOS for John Lee and Carlos.

Pretty nice version of "Don't Let It Bring You Down" from Annie Lennox.

I was wondering who that was. BOS from me for Annie.

Jerry Garcia's death -> "Downtown" by Neil Young....?????

Hmm, lyric "the hippies all gone.. like a psychedelic dream"

Pretty unimaginative stuff from Neil. Yawn.

It's like I'm psycho or something...  LN: "I'll stick around" FF

I'm going to exit now, contrary to their assertion. Nice set overall!

Pretty nice version of "Don't Let It Bring You Down" from Annie Lennox.

Used to excellent effect in American Beauty.  I actually bought the cd ("Medusa", a collection of covers) for this track.

  1. The Presidents of the United States of America - Lump
  2. Weird Al - Gump
(Movie: Clueless - Cher (Alicia Silverstone) "High school boys are like dogs. As if.")
  3. Alanis Morisette - You Oughta Know
(Movie: The Brady Bunch Movie - Jan (Jennifer Cox) "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.")
  4. Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger
  5. TLC - Waterfalls
(News: President Clinton says goverment shutting down because Republican Congress fails to act)
  6. John Lee Hooker w/ Carlos Santana - Chill Out (Things Gonna Change)
  7. Annie Lennox - Don't Let It Bring You Down

Well, the NOFX is a bustout (I think?) and so is the Weird Al, but the rest... nothing new and the usual mix of LNs and stuff we've heard before.

This song by Annie Lennox seemed new. NOFX and TLC are also rarities. I'll take this as a decent set with an appropriate number of unique songs mixed in with the common ones.

I figured out that the intro to "Don't Look Back in Anger" is identical to Lennon's "Imagine". Blech.

However, that awful music led me to this, which is just awesome:

Beatles vs Joan Jett vs Cypress Hill vs House of Pain vs RATM
