for those of you that don't know, he was one of the world's great fiddlers, and achieved Deadhead fame as a member of Old and In The Way with Jerry Garcia et. al.

Damn, that's a shame. I had the privilege of seeing him a couple of times--he was one of the truly great bluegrass musicians. I'd heard he was ill. A huge loss.
