Atlanta Olympics, blah blah blah.
Think I'll pass, esp if 2NG's retro-chart is halfway interesting.

LOL. She finally played the Macarena!
-
Can't listen live, but "Macarena" makes it by definition a happy week.

Is this Metallica? Seems like I should be able to tell, though I don't know all that much of their stuff. NTM, in any case.
ETA: Google confirms it's "Hero of the Day".

Not at all bad, IMHO: the only real LN (and it's *UBER* so) is Cake. Yes, the "Macarena" is, technically, godawful, but it was HUGE and every set needs pop cheeze.
ETA: "Criminal" is actually from 1997.

Yep, "Macarena" certainly would be an F/A on the "quality/necessary" scale.... while in some ways it signifies everything that is wrong about pop music, in other ways it signifies everything that is enjoyable about pop music. And if it doesn't at least bring a smile to one's face, than one isn't human.

I thought this set was really good (except for Cake). That Neil young song was pretty nice, as was the Foos, sounding less bombastic then they do now. I thought the Fiona Apple was Sheryl Crow or Lucinda Wms at first, heh heh. (I have huge gaps in my 90s music knowledge.)

This set was pretty much what I was listening to in 96. Hits 106 played em all except Neil & Lyle.
Only real complaint is that 4-9 was a pretty lethargic block. But it was nice to see two pop standards AND finally a Metallica song other than Enter Sandman.

wish I'd heard it!
