Title: 20 July 2012: It's 1992
Post by: Big Fingers McGee on July 19, 2012, 09:21:28 PM
Thread on AL's FB page. Some "No Petty please" comments... although I don't believe he released anything that year.

I think there may have been leftover singles from his '91 LP in the mix. And his Rodney King song, "Peace in LA".

ETA: we just heard "Free Falling" @ 9:45-ish, so we may be immunized.

Now, THAT would be appropriate.

and lo, AL begins with Annie L's "Why?" which would normally be LN1 but is indeed appropriate for the day.

LN Crapton at his most maudlin.

Hey, I know there was a horrible event last night, but I need some cheer right now -- not more wallowing.

Amen. Of course, "Tears In Heaven" depresses me regardless of the day.

HM Soup Dragons "Divine Thing".

"But I should've known you were the devil" -- exactly what I realized about my gf at the time.

It's on the tip of my tongue. The voice was familiar.

VHM SoupDragons. also borderline-LN but at least it's upbeat.

Not necessary, but I'll take Happy Cure as a consolation prize. Another HM for "Friday I'm in Love"

BOS Never Gonna Get It.

I'd like to see a song that mixes this "oooo bop" with "mmmm bop"

I would have chosen a different Peter Gabriel song from this album. "Washing of the water" or "blood of eden" but those would be too depressing I guess.

Also, the opening sounds a lot like Springsteen's Streets of Philadelphia. Sampled?

Haha, I admit nothing!

OK, OK, I searched on the lyrics. It's a little embarrassing to mistake Bjork for Dolores. I knew it didn't sound quite right...

Wife: "Who is this? Sounds like that woman who wore a goose dress."
Me: "Yeah, but the experts on this forum say 'Cranberries'"

#2 was Sugar "Helpless". NTM.

BOS En Vogue and U2

Maybe, although that would have been hard with "Streets Of Philadelphia" being an early 1994 hit.

Has "Digging In The Dirt" received any 10@10 love?
