I'm betting on something '90s.

INXS "Disappear" would seem to indicate 1990 (?)
-
Love this Cocteau Twins song. But no guesses for year from me.
-
not recognizing song 2.
ETA: thanks, Davefish. AL loves her some Coc(teau)!

The Depeche Mode of this set sounds pre-1990 to me...88?
-
Words are very unnecessary. And so is "Enjoy the Silence".

Mats, I believe. BOS from these quarters.
ETA: One of the better tracks from their swan song, All Shook Down ca. 1990. It's sounding like this and the Cocteau Twins are as close as we're getting to rarities today.

I know Been Caught Stealing is a Katrina, but I still enjoy it.

WOS from me -- never liked it much. Other than the Cocteaus this has been VERY standard-issue 1990.

Why deny the obvious, child? This is a very uninspired affair so far.
VHM Mr Simon, but I'm being generous.
-
this endless mix of Primal Scream's "Loaded" is, well, endless.
-
another frequent flier: Sinead.
BOS Joe Pesci.

7/02/12 - Monday! Mystery Year! (1990)
1. INXS - Disappear
2. Cocteau Twins - Ice-Blink Luck
(Movie - Back to the Future III - Doc and Marty reunited)
3. Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence
4. They Might Be Giants - Birdhouse In Your Soul
(Movie: Misery Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates) "I know that, Mr. Man. I'm not stupid you know.")
5. The Replacements - Merry Go Round
(News: Keating 5 Hearings)
(TV: Homer Simpson - D'oh)
6. Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing
7. Paul Simon - The Obvious Child
8 Primal Scream - Loaded
(News: Wild spotted owls and dophins saved, Sea lions come back to Pier 39, Humphrey returns to Delta, Pete Rose and george Steinbrenner get in baseball hot water)
9. Sinead O'Connor - The Emporer's New Clothes
(Movie: Goodfellas (Funny, how? Like I'm a clown. Like I amuse you?")
10. The Jesus and Mary Chain - Head On
Seriously: Frequent-Flier City, except for the Cocteau Twins. Desperately needed some pop (Bell Biv Devoe? Lisa Stansfield? Janet J? Prince?) or something really off-the-alt-rock-path, like Garth Brooks.
