Plenty of good requests, although as once person wrote: "No STP Please".
We'll probably get Clapton.
-
"Welcome to paradise". Not.
-
"Seether" is neither. I agree.
-
BOS for Veruca Salt. So what was the Seether again?
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WOS1 Sideshow Bob & Co.
-
uber-WOS2 Live -- gawd they were/are horrid.
-
Holee crap! BOS Dinosaur Jr. "Feel the Pain"....my request...yay!!!!!

glad somebody's happy! ;) So far I'm in full-on crankypants. This ain't bad and it's neither LN nor WOS so VHM from me.
-
I'll give an LN to Nirvana. I've heard this a thousand times and I'm sick of it. Terrible guitar solo. It ain't even unplugged.
-
LN: Nirvana

Between Dinosaur, Veruca, and Green, this is the 1994 I remember.

Oh, snap! :)
-
BOS for the Offspring! I was always more excited about these guys than Green Day.
-
keep 'em sep-a-RATED! BOS1. A Live 105 biggie that year.

Same with 98.5 which I listened to a lot in those days.

Musical Crankypants - I never cared for The Offspring. Ugh.
-
VHM Oasis. Another "all Live 105 all the time" '90s set.

I'll give a BOS for this one, since I don't recognize it.
-
BOS for those buzzy lithping vocals from Layne and Alice in Chains.
-
BOS2 "What's the Frequency, Kenneth". Good tune, this.
-
What's the frequency, AL? oh: 105.

05/03/12 - Thursday! 1994
1. Green Day - Welcome to Paradise
(news - OJ Simpson charged with murder; Susan Smith charged with murder; Lorena Bobbitt not guilty of ...)
2. Veruca Salt -- The Seether
( Movie - Dumb and Dumber - Jim Carey and Jeff Bridges) "Not a single job unless you want to work 40 hours a week")
3. Counting Crows - Einstein on the Beach
4. Live - I Alone
(news - Arrests in the Nancy Kerrigan "attack")
5. Dinosaur Jr. - Feel The Pain
6. Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World
( News - Newt Gingrich interview - Republican gain 50 seats and take control of the House)
7. The Offspring - Come Out And Play
8. Oasis - Supersonic
(News - Republicans gain control of Senate with Rick Santorum's win in Pennsylvania)
9. Alice in Chains - No Excuses
10. REM - What's The Frequency, Kenneth?
(TV - Simpsons - Homer's "D'oh!")
-
...& REM seals the deal. This set is officially 1994 pop-rock hell. At least we got some of the bands' 'other' singles: 'I Alone' vs. 'Lightning Crashes', 'Einstein' vs. just about anything else by CC. But this set could have really used some Real McCoy. Or Weird Al - Headline News.

I agree, re: the lack of pure pop. But this seems to be the modus operandi in '90s sets: whatever Live 105 was playing then. I'll keep requesting Shonen Knife and Ini Kamoze...

"Welcome to paradise". Not.
I may be the only GD fan in this club, so I got to stand up for them: VHM, though a bit of a LN. I would have gone with "Longview", but that's not very necessary either.
I reviewed '94 yesterday when the fb post came up, and decided that I didn't have any favorites that I would consider necessary.

Day-um! 1994 as I actually remember it. Impressive

Oh, I'm a huge fan, actually. My comment was about the year, not the song, tho' it is borderline LN.
And it was certainly '94 as I remember it too (minus the country stuff I was into that year). I worked in an office where were alternated between Live 105 and KFOG -- Alex Bennett 'til 10, then 10@10, then flip a coin -- and so everything here was in that wheelhouse.
