some good some bad and some ugly requests on FB. "Uncle Scott" posted the ENTIRE Top 100 singles of '83. And that's why he wasn't invited to be a gs.

I would suggest that, in of itself, that isn't why he wasn't invited.

AL puts the whammy (kiss) on us.
The older I get, the more annoying I find Fred Schneider. And this was the period where they started to get borderline-idiotic.
-
VHM Naked Eyes. alsways nice to hear "Promises"2
-
BOS1 Videodrome.
VHM X's cover of "Breathless"-UH!
-
Wow, what was that movie clip? Kinda hot...
I'm trying to place that guy's voice. I know I know it...I can see his face...

James Woods -- it's a great, weird flick. David Cronenberg at his wildest.

Yah, I just looked it up. That's the guy I was thinking of ;).

Hah! Debbie Harry, that "Uptown Girl". BOS2 BJ.

BOS3 Marshall Crenshaw.

And I get a request played... how long has it been since this appeared?

A quick search says not since Dave played it in April of 2008. First appearance in the AL era, amazingly.

wow -- the Go-Betweens? a bustout, I'm assuming.
-
Defense cuts --> "It's a Mistake". Cute, AL.

Just seems like it's overplayed.
Colin Hays' voice has a Stevie Winwood quality to it.

BOS New Order
This set is pretty nice. I'm digging the different clips also.
-
VHM New Order.
Can't tell if this is a bustout -- certainly Dave never played it, but AL may have.
-
evv'y girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed 'trina. VHM anyway.
And it may not even be that 'trin-y: Dave never spun it.
-
AWK! didn't turn off the radio fast enough and got a cold bucket of Gin Blossoms on my head.

indeed -- closest to LN territory is R.E.M. and M.A.W. The Go-Betweens are a bustout, afaik.
-
New Order is also, indeed, a bustout. I wouldn't really call this M@W song a LN, it only has 3 Dave spins per the Shraytabase (& 0 AL, before now)..."Who Can it Be Now?" would be the LN.

'Twas my request. 6th time's the charm on that one. Goes to show...ya never know!
-
Listening to the replay again. This is a good set. And you'll notice that New Order got a BOS even though many probably never heard this song before. (It's new to me).
Let this be a lesson to the powers-that-be that playing less well-known songs is a good way to increase listeners, not decrease them.
