no clues as of 9pm Sunday. Not clear to me what that charity thing on Tuesday means in terms of 10@10, so maybe we'll get a Tax set tomorrow? Then again, maybe not.
ETA: per a promo I heard, it's a Mystery Year. Guess AL went to the Webster/Dennis/Rosalie mutual birthday party.

Our Lips are Sealed means... 1981!
-
BOS1 Adam and his "Antmusic".
-
Dudley Moore gets caught between the moon and Noo Yawk City. But no Chris Cross.
BOS2 Human League's "Love Action" - a serious rarity if not a bustout.

BOS to one of my fave Human League songs. I always get a kick out of the line "but this is Phil talking..."
-
No peak sensation here: WOS Cars, "Since You're Gone".

Surely, you can't be serious. Just bought the most recent (2011) Cars album -- the one with the orig line-up, sans Benn Orr, of course. Not bad... it was a dollar in the cut out bin at Amoeba. The Nice Price!
This King Crimson lineup were the bees knees for me back then.

hee. and worth noting that most of us didn't hear "Love Action" until the following year, after "Don't You Want me" broke.
wow: King Crimson, "Frame By Frame" gets a BOSFRA.

Touchdownnnnnnnnn... RAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS!
you better win, if you bet.
Honey, who WOULDN'T welcome Roger Daltrey with open legs?

The Who's status as a supergroup didn't translate into the massive album sales similar groups enjoyed:

some good super-specific lyrics in this one, but what does this mean? "I lay on the bed with you.. we could make some book on records..."
I also like "I showed up late with a neon light as a visa."
-
I was just looking up this Depeche Mode song last night. It's my favorite of theirs -- kind of sounds like Erasure.
-
BOS4 Depeche Mode at their most delightfully poppiest.

indeed, it was while Vince Clarke was still with them -- he left after this to form Yaz(oo)

I always thought it was "book of records". I think the idea was that they could have some record-breaking sex...
I also wondered about the neon light. I always envisioned this as being a glowing nose from being drunk, but don't have much conviction that that's what they had in mind.
-
ah, Bohemian Grove....
OMFG: Heaven 17, "We Don't Need No Fascist Groove Thing"!! uber-BOS5.
-
Anchors aweigh!
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WOS2 Henley & the Goat. eek.

ah, right. makes sense, as does the "neon nose" thing
Goaty Pleasure for me: Leather and Lace

White Girl is my favorite X song and possibly in my all-time top 10.
-
X: another bustout? BOS6 in any case -- this has been a fine fine set.

04/16/12 - Monday! A Mystery Year! (1981)
1. Go-Gos -- Our Lips Are Sealed
2. Adam Ant -- Ant Music
(Movie Arthur -- Dudley Moore -- "You spoiled little bastard")
3. Human League -- Love Action
4. Cars -- Since You're Gone
(News clip -- Downer news including assaination attempts and hostage drama)
5. King Crimson -- Frame By Frame
(News clip -- Oakland Raiders win Super Bowl XV)
6. The Who -- You Better, You Bet
7. Depeche Mode -- Just Can't Get Enough
(News clip -- Bohemian Club)
8. Heaven 17 -- (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang
9. Stevie Nicks/Don Henley -- Leather and Lace
(Commercial -- Brooke Shields -- What comes between me and my Calvins? nothing)
10. X - White Girl
Can't remember the last time I had 6 BOSes in an '80s set. And only 3 tracks even approached being LNs (Go-Gos, Cars and the 'oo, IMHO) But I'm willing to let that slide. Not bad for a Moan-day.

I had time to research, and no less than FOUR bustouts: X's "White Girl", Depeche Mode, Heaven 17 and Human League's "Love Action" -- amazing, really. I thought the King Crimson was too but AL played "Frame By Frame" once before. The Cars tune was of course a major Moreytrina, the Go-Go's somewhat less so, but everything else was relatively rare -- "Antmusic" and the Nicks/Henley are AL faves that Dave never played. Most impressive set in a while, sez me.
