time is just flying by... seems like every day I say "didn't we just do 19__?" and then I look at the calendar and see it's been, like, 5 weeks.

Yay Rockpile, the quintessential Mike BOS/Gaz WOS.

Sorry, my co-worker had to talk to me & although I love her dearly, some days her English is just not up to snuff & the conversation takes forever.

Pretty good set so far (imho), starting off with the least Who-like thing Townshend ever did.

Oooh, kudos to Dave for the Peter Jennings clip.

Okay, I have to give a vhm to everything so far, but BOS to the Heads.

This really was one of the cornerstone albums of the decade.

They're on the "Local Scene" sampler that KFOG is currently flogging, and they're doing a live free show I think.

Hi, everybody. I don't really have anything to add to today's discussion as of yet.

I performed improv for the Coast Guard on Saturday at their training center in Petaluma (well, one of their training centers. The kind of training that doesn't require water). Those poor kids are so bored they thought we were the greatest thing they'd ever seen. Su-ckers!  :D

Tonight? I'll be shaking my improv booty at The Green Room down at the Wharf. Tourists are great. They're a lot like bored Coast Guard trainees in Petaluma. Su-ckers!  :D

Hey Dave, I emailed you with a lunch proposal (your ...alum address).

In fact I was going to say that this is such a strong set that the Bowie is the weakest song for me so far.

And they're nice to you- which takes getting used to.

I got a message from the Action Man...

The animated Jonny-Quest parody show The Venture Brothers on adultswim had characters named Major Tom and The Action Man.

Action Man marries Major Tom's wife after Tom dies in an experimental plane crash... it's awkward.

Suddenly we're hip-deep in BOS candidates: T. Heads, Bowie, Roxie Music, and now Split Enz. And I'll give Althea a VHM just cuz it's almost Jerry day. Yep, darn fine 80 set!

Also: Action Man, I believe, was what Secret Agent with Patrick McGoohan was called in England.  I really need to get TiVo so I can record Harvey Birdman.

phoned in a 10-way tie vote, but told Dave if pressed I'd give BOS to Peter Jennings & added that I thought that was a very nice touch.  He seemed to appreciate that I noticed.

although that was before the Police, which I swear KFOG is playing at least every other hour during regular palylist time.

I still like "Driven To Tears", but liked it more 2 months ago.

I've noticed that JACK-format stations are very Police-topheavy: I wonder if KFOG's programming at least a little bit in response to that.  Have they brought Def Leppard's Hysteria album out of mothballs?  (I find that one to be JACK-overrepresented as well.)

Hope you weren't listening last nite: about 20 minutes after the 10@10 replay ended, they played "Driven to Tears" AGAIN!  They really need a continuity person.

And I heard it yet again this morning when my alarm went off, a few minutes after 7. That damn song must have charted at or near the top of the last listener music survey. Perhaps we should start a thread for songs KFOG is playing to death?

Which reminds me: nine days into "Local Artist Month" I am officially Sick To Death of that Luce "buy a dog and take him home" song.

I got my name on the guest list for preferred seating & first dibs on the food spread & Ali is trying to swing it.  I bet we could get somebody else in if we tried.  Anyone interested?

btw, this is as far south as they are coming this year.  No obligatory KFFG appearance.
