I gathered through other posts that AB requested "Under The Milky Way'. And don't worry, "Handle With Care" has already been suggested.

In 88, I really thought GnR would only last till 89 - guess I was wrong. I figured they'd be the next Cinderella or some other forgettable metal hair band.

Judging by how 2008's "Chinese Democracy" was received, you're not entirely wrong.

the opening guitar riff is a true classic.

Axl's screech voice was never designed to last longer than a few years.  Don't know how it sounds now, nor do I care.

someone appreciates her, but maybe not Hollywood?  (she won a BAFTA and won a Golden Globe.)

indeed -- I was floored when she won the BAFTA (for Trading Places!) She shoulda neen nominated for Wanda or True Lies or both. Comedy is hard.

REM (the band) are an LN-in-perpetuity, but "World Leader Pretend" is a relative rarity, at least.

This REM is NTM.

shraytabase-wise, it's a bustout, as are the Hiatt and the Astley (unless AL has played those, but I'm not remembering either having appeared before)

I'd be willing to bet that Astley got a play in 2010, back when AL had more freedom to choose.

Is it just me, or have the sets of the last couple weeks, save the occasional dud like 2002, been a bit more interesting?

Yeah, I think this week's sets have been more interesting than the past month or so. Sure 2002 was lousy, but no one had any doubts about that.

Winds of change blowing again?

I was bombarded by cow-orkers this morning.  BOS, Rick Astley, hm Neil and GNR.

Best Set of Set, Jamie Curtis.

Okay, that's sexist, and I am sufficiently contrite.  Trust me.

"But Italian is such an ugly language. How about Russian?"
