Um, can't think of too much good from this year. Albums from my library that should make the cut:
* Reigning Sound: Time Bomb High School
* Dirty Vegas: Self Titled
* Pearl Jam: Riot Act

did someone request "Hot in Herre"? I'd be impressed if AL played it -- she did play "Lose Yourself", after all. But I'm gonns skip 2002 today, as I can't imagine it would be anything but depressing for me.

Luce isn't providing much excitement. At least it isn't Train...

Foo Fighters might be a perma-LN, but this is my favorite song of theirs.

I like to hear the Foos. This particular one bothers me though, because it so resembles "Pole Sitta" in the melody. They're both good songs, but this one seems like a bit of a rip...
ETA: I like this Pete Yorn song, but boy we're going down the middle of the road here.

Not listening to Matchbox 20...

Not listening to Matchbox 20...
Dear Jebus, this is not shaping up very well at all.

every weekday my computer starts up the KFOG stream at 9:55 AM. I get to work today and as soon as I click the browser to start listening to the stream, it crashes.
I'll heed the warning and listen to something else. :)

What was that movie clip? Sounded a little like Harry Dean Stanton, but I'm guessing it wasn't. And I never saw "Leaving Las Vegas"; is that what the Nic Cage clip was?

Holy sweet bejeezus what a total LN and snoozy fest this 2002 set was. AL (and even DC, for that matter) is capable of so much better.
Edit: Here's Wilco. Nope, still can't save it, sorry.
Edit 2: The White Stripes. Ok, we're getting a little better, but ending with a trifeca of decent but overhyped garage bands of 01-02 (I'm lumping Wilco in with the WS, Strokes, Vines, Hives, Moony Suzuki, etc because all the trendy mags did too) is still a little too little too late.
That, and it's going to take a lot to make up for ever putting "Unwell" (LoLN) (followed by No Doubt, no doubt) in 10@10. Twice. Srly.

eeek. Glad I stayed away. I'm afraid to look at FB -- the first "oooo! I *love* Matchbox 20!!!" comment I encountered would surely make me go postal.

Today's Radical Ra(n)tings, using IE formatting:
G/N
1. C/D (The Rising has three singles and this is probably the worst, let's get to both of the others and a few album tracks before repeating this again k?)[/color]
2. B-/D (Songs as bland as this need not be repeated.)
3. A-/F (ugh.)
4. A-/A- (After playing "Life on a Chain" 2x, she actually went with the other Pete Yorn song! So sad this seems to be the exception and not the rule anymore. ::) )
5. A-/F- Comment 1: (...) Comment 2: (If they must play M20, I don't understand why they don't play "Disease." I like "Unwell" as much as anyone, seriously, but "Disease" could really qualify as a 10@10 song. "Unwell" is anything but.)
6. F/F- (These two songs in a row could have singlehandedly destroyed any 10@10. Come to think of it, "Unwell" by itself could destroy a perfectly good 10@10, let alone an already subpar one, and this song probably could too. Seriously, it's like a present-day AliceMixStar sample hour.)
7. B-/F- (After this, 8-9-10 could be my favorite three songs of 2002 and I'd still probably hate the set. :-\ But they're not.)
8. C/D
9. A-/B-
10. B+/B-
