It's been a long time for this year.
-
I love Rush and all, but maybe The Guess Who are the best Canadian band. They sure had a bunch of hits in 1970.
-
The Hollies have a song called I Can't Tell The Bottom From The Top. There's a joke in there somewhere, but it's just not COMING to me.

they wrote it about Troy Aikman and Joe Buck.

I hear "Footloose". Slight plagiarism?

BOS1 the Dead when they wrote good songs (yeah, I liked them during this period).

I'd never thought of it but yeah, it's in there. Not as bad as Adele ripping off the Fray, but yeah.

I don't completely dislike the Dead, but there are times when I scratch my head. If I was ever required to do a song parody of the Grateful Dead, I just might choose Box Of Rain and play (and sing) it verbatim.
... and I would choose Bruce Springsteen's No Surrender to parody him.
-
from "the Beatles would no longer be" to "Let it be"... Oy.

I agree!
LN: "Let It Be". I never mind hearing "Lola", actually. :)

Agreed on both fronts.

guitarists: the verse riff fingering for LZ's Misty Mountain Hop and Funk 49 are very similar.

Oh, no! I need the glossary. I don't remember what Sallys and Lolas are. :)
-
We once bought some furniture from a guy who claimed to be a friend of Norman Greenbaum. He said Norman's career tanked because his girlfriend at the time wouldn't let him tour when this single was hot!

Great set. Last night I was looking through my box of Morey era casette sets. Mostly all 70's sets. A vertical tasting Soul Patrol. Those were the days my friends. So many gems.
