Yes, for realz!
HELLA fo' realz! ;)

Some truly wonderful suggestions on FB; here's hoping some of them actually get played.
Nice to be getting '66 midweek: Friday is the 13th, and we know it won't be Hits From Hell but will it be any kind of theme at all? Monday presumably is the annual MLK set.
-
beep.... boop... boop!
Hey Hey it's the '66 Monkees.
-
OK, I'll BOS "Little Red Book" but hoping for a bustout or 3.
-
uber-unnecessary: "Monday Monday" -- making what seems like it's umpteenth appearance in the AL era alone. Paging 103.7...
-
aaccck. Forgot to tune in. Late to the party.
-
I can't believe both Michelle Phillips AND Mama Cass Elliot fit in my left ear. Stereo separation is a wondrous thing.

you'd think Cass alone would fill up all that space ;)
BOS2 Otis. Eat yer hearts out, 3DN.

more 103.7-y chestnuts: Percy Sledge.

for reals. even the clips she's picking sound too familiar.
-
BOS3 Liz & Dick as Martha & George.
BOS4 13th Floor Elevators -- closest to a rarity we're gonna get, I fear.
-
is it me, or does Roky's signature vibrato sound a lot like a certain someone's infamous giggle?
???

I'll BOS "You're Gonna Need Me" too. Though this was definitely a Morey standard.

99 problems, but keeping pitch ain't one.

Great big BOS for Baaaaaaahb! One of my faves by him.
And the funny thing is that the first time I remember hearing this was when I heard it at Stanford by the Grateful Dead.

wow, really? it's not in the Shraytabase. But in the early days of 10@10 when '60s sets dominated, i would imagine he played it often (I didn't discover the show until 1992.)
BOS5 Zimmy.

Yay Bobby D, "Stuck Inside of Mobile..." a request from prior visits to '66

Yup, that's how I remember it, along with other garage band stuff like The Seeds ("Pushing Too Hard") and the Leaves ("Hey Joe") and the Strawberry Alarm Clock ("Incense and Peppermints").
-
Dylan: the original master of the Willfully Obscure -- Rush, eat yer hearts out.
-
Wouldn't it be nice if AL could play 10 songs that she actually wants to play?
-
I saw a couple eps of Family Affair over Xmas holiday (they air on MeTV). One was when Buffy broke her leg playing on the kids' baseball team. Anissa Jones, the child actress who played Buffy (and who famously OD'd when she was 18), really did break hger leg and they wrote that into her character. OMG, she was such a cute kid.
another BOS to Beeyotch Boys

Nuggets, either the single CD, expanded 4-CD or the original vinyl is such a cool collection of those 60s garage band tunes! I keep my 4-cd set handy for those "gotta hear it" moments. AL should do an entire 10at10 off Nuggets. Check out the track listings:

BOS5 "Tomorrow Never Knows". The Tibetan Book of the Dead totally RAWKS!

Shaw nuff! I have both of those too. Along with girl groups, I think garage bands were Dave's 60's favorites.

This is just so out there. Awesomeness!

are you familiar with that "Buffy Buffy Come back to me (why'd ya have to go and O-D?)" song from the '80s. I forget the name of the artist. ah, here it is: Angel & the reruns:

I heard that too -- at first I thought she was actually giggling over the opening for no apparent reason.
-
Well, I wouldn't be me if I didn't criticize: this was 2/3 of a good set. Again, you can guess what songs were DC-approved. The Monkees, Ms&Ps, BBs and Percy Sledge were from the Sixties for Dummies playbook -- songs people under 40 have actually heard of.

Ha! that song was HUUUUUUGE on Lawn Guyland's "Rock o' the '80s" station, WLIR, back in the day -- they would do an annual "favorite songs" poll and it would often edge out U2 and the Smiths to finish at #1 (!)

OMG, she was such a cute kid.
What a chickabiddy! (Sorry, I ran my school's spelling bee yesterday, and that was the first time I'd ever seen that word; it also took out one of the kids from my class, damn chickabiddy)

Chickabiddy! That sounds so Jazz Age!

nice to hear the re-broadcast, but too short, and of course too predictable. I'll take it when I can get it however.
