I've never heard the Etheridge song, and haven't heard "Under African Skies" since I was in college, so I had to bow out of this one.  But I'll add a couple more Black As Nights:

Stories, "Brother Louie"
Animals, "Monterey"

KFOG played the Etheridge & Simon back-to-back the other day; so I went looking for another -- can't believe I didn't think of "Brother Louie"!

(actually the Etheridge lyric is pretty awful: "the night is black/as black as night".  well... duh!)
