Title: 8 Dec 2011: a Mystery Year (1980)
Post by: RGMike on December 07, 2011, 10:00:25 PM
I'm guessing early '70s since we had '68 and '76 last week; Friday should be a Xmas-themed thing.

Very strange.  Which board theme, if any, are you using?

Do you have any IE plugins that others might not?  That it happens on your work computer AND your home computer tends to indicate that it isn't specific to either setup, but, as far as I know, nobody else is having the posting refresh problem (just the new problem).

I haven't changed the "theme" since the upgrade. No plugins that I know of.

Okay, cool.  But, if you think the problem is frustrating, now I am going to frustrate you both with asking for as detailed an explanation of the problem as you can come up with.  What, exactly, are the steps you take when posting?  What is the result of the post?  What do you see, what do you not see?  Does it happen most of the time, some of the time?  When it does happen do you notice a delay after you hit post? Etc. Etc.

Feel free to answer in the server chchchanges thread...

I'm seeing the "new" indicator even when there are no new posts.

That seems fairly common -- I get that occasionally.  What is less common, I assume, is that you post and the post doesn't show up for you immediately.  I don't get that.

hard to believe that show went into 1980, which is technically the 80s but is more like 1979.5

I'd like to BOW (best of week) this set.

indeed, most entertaining for me.

This has turned out to be a pretty remarkable week, considering the kinds of stuff we've been hearing in recent months. Three of the four sets we've heard up to now have had some pretty significant stuff (today's being the high water mark, but yesterday's 94 set wasn't too shabby), and we still have '69 to look forward to. However, since the last few 60s set have been short on nuggets and long on overplayed evergreens, I'm not letting my expectations get too high.
