JJ just played a sweet soul cover of Bread's "Make it With You" by the early-'70s J-5 soundalikes Spoonbread. Very cute.
And a few songs later, here's Ronnie Dyson's version of the same tune -- also nice.
ooo! Charles Wright/Watts 103rd, "Loveland", one of my all-time faves.
and speaking of all-time-faves, Barbara Acklin's faboo "Love makes a Woman" kicks off the '60s segment today.

2NG treats me to "Sad Sweet Dreamer" and then the UK version of "Who Do You Think You Are?" by Candlewick Green.... and OMFG the Goldie & the Gingerbreads orig of "Can't You Hear My Heartbeat"!

Haven't been able to stream The Boardwalk since last week -- since it doesn't work on either my home OR my work PCs I figured it was their problem and sure enuf, from their FB page:
"Steam is down .. a car ran into a guide wire and pole at our office. Caused major equipment problems working on them and hope to be streaming again very soon!"
Yikes.

I understand they're "sprinkling" holiday tunes amidst the Billy Joel and Eagles. And I've never understood how "My Favorite Things" got to be considered a Xmas song (one or 2 references to snow does not a holiday classic make), except that the Supes put it on their Christmas LP in 1965 when The Sound of Music was hella popular.

You're right: they're playing a Christmas Oldie every fourth or fifth song. In addition to the Supes, we got these:
Temptations - Silent Night
Cadillacs - Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer
the last 10 played
1. Temptations - Silent Night
2. Supertramp - The Logical Song
3. Linda Ronstadt - That'll Be The Day
4. Beatles - Come Together
5. Rod Stewart - You're In My Heart
6. Cadillacs - Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer
7. Pure Prairie League - Amie
8. Roy Orbison - You Got It
9. Terry Jacks - Seasons In The Sun
10. Diana Ross & The Supremes - My Favorite Things
