Well, once again, AL's FB page is just jumpin' with suggestions.
EDIT: Egad, SRW and I have a request in common. I may have to go back and change mine ;)

into the San Francisco Bay!

I requested Richard & Linda Thompson and wonder if the Shoot Out the Lights album has gotten a lot of '82 play over the years. It was THE critics' favorite album of my youth, which made me automatically hate it as boring, grown-up music, especially since it wasn't played on the AOR stations I listened to at the time. Now I am a boring grown-up, and, listening quite a bit to Shoot Out the Lights over the past few months, I'm understanding why the critics raved back then.

Requested The Jam's "Beat Surrender" this morning. Man, they sure broke up during their peak, didn't they?

indeed, NYC AOR ignored it too, tho' it was (I think) the #1 LP on the Village Voice poll that year. I didn't really discover Richard T until I moved to SF.

Love the Richard Lewis intro but let's not overdo it.
Crock o'Siegals in Iran, Iran so far away. Saw them at the Peppermint Lounge in NYC that summer.

'overdo' meaning they overplay it?
or the deejay's reaction?

overdo meaning, they overplay it?

They are verging on overplaying it. I like it and wouldn't want to get sick of it (AL's laughter is on the orig recording, she laughs at the same spot each time).
BOS X!!
and speaking of overplayed : Tommy heard-Tu-much-tone. I *am* disturbed.
-
BOS2 Marshall Crenshaw - yeah, I'm a Cynical Girl, too..... ;)

My records take me back to certain points in my life. I totally measure my life by the music I listen to at the time. It gets fuzzy lately since I rarely listen to contemporary music.
-
post-10@10 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!: Cowboy Junkies.
-
That was a good set, no?
-
That was a good set, no?
Yes, though a couple more of the requested bustouts, rather than repeaters, would've taken it up a notch or 2.
(I'm not sure if the X and the Crenshaw were bustouts, but everything else has been heard multiple times -- from Dave, if not from AL)
