Mon 10/31/11: Scaaaaaaary Songs! Bwahahahaha!
The Wolfman has the Clap -- wow, that *is* scary!
CCR put a spell on Screamin' Jay and stole his song.
eek: scary in more ways than one -- Ozzy covering "Sympathy for the Devil" WOS1.
BOS Bowie -- I'm sure we'll get "Scary Monsters" from AL too. Ditto MJ and Oingo Boingo, I'll wager.
uh, "Dancing in the Moonlight"? er... OK.
uber-BOS2 Alice Cooper, "Welcome To My Nightmare".
VHM "Frankenstein".
Guess Who - Clap For The Wolfman
CCR - I Put A Spell On You
Ozzy Osbourne - Sympathy For The Devil
Elvis Presley - Devil in Disguise
David Bowie - Scary Monsters
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Oingo Boingo - Dead Man's Party
King Harvest - Dancing in the Moonlight
Alice Cooper - Welcome to My Nightmare
Edgar Winter - Frankenstein

Tues 11/1/11: 1975
David Bowie - Young Americans
Earth, Wind & Fire - Sing a Song
KISS - Rock and Roll All Nite
Led Zeppelin - Boogie With Stu
Wings - Listen to What the Man Said
Foghat - Fool for the City
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Neil Sedaka - Bad Blood
America - Sister Golden Hair
Boston - Smokin'
I know it's a 'trina, but Young Americans is my fave Bowie song!
You ain't a pimp and you ain't a hustler
A pimp's got a Cadi and a lady's got a Chrysler
Haaaaaay!

Thank you for filling in for RGMike, sundaygal :)
Who knew Bowie was the father of gangsta rap?
I love Sister Golden Hair!
I also love Foghat, although Fool for the City is no long version of Slow Ride.

Wed 11/2/11: 1981
eek. When I see a chance to switch to another station, should I take it?
BOS Ms Benatar, "Fire & Ice", jus' because.
BOS2 AC/DC, "Dirty Deeds" -- tho' I wish it were the Lesley Gore version.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Ms Carnes unheezes us all. "she's got Greta Garbo's inner thighs". And a WOS1
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO2! Rush make their mandatory appearance. "Barchetta" is Italian for "small boat". And English for WOS2.
From Red Barchetta to red leather: WOS3 Loverboy

WOS.4 .38 Special.
Accroches-toi, ELO.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO3! Styx's "Best of Times"is Worst of WOSes. This is one of Bob's all-time Y&S-fests.
OMFG: rarity it may be but WOS6 Starship's "Stranger". Good lord was this a horrible crapfest after the first couple o' songs.
Steve Winwood - While You See a Chance
Pat Benatar - Fire and Ice
AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes
Rush - Red Barchetta
Loverboy - When It's Over
.38 Special - Hold On Loosely
ELO - Hold On Tight
Styx - The Best of Times
Jefferson Starship - Stranger

How do you not like "Bette Davis Eyes"?? What!

don't blame Rush for naming the car, but they should get points off for mis-pronouncing it. In Italian, 'che' produces a 'k' sound. It should be said as "barˈketta" -- but why quibble over such things in the face of greatness?

How do you not like "Bette Davis Eyes"?? What!
I liked it back in the day (I worship Jackie DeShannon) but it is easily a Top 5 across-the-time-zones 10@10 uber-katrina. And seriously: "she'll un-heeze you"?

Thur 11/3/11: 1970!!
instant BOS "What is Life?" -- what a fabulous production.
BOS2 Bread, "It Don' Mattah to Me"
Lawd have mercy! uber-BOS3 PG&E. It's powerful music, it's easy to sing!
Badfinger channel their inner Fab Four. BOS4 "NMW".
I'd've loved something other than "Your Song" from EJ's debut. It's got me quite cross, actually.
zee mad dogs, zee Englishmen, et... Zho Co-KAIR!
One for the "never again" list: "All Right Now". Let's move before they raise the 'trina rate.
VHM the Dead. But when Neil sings I can really BOS5.
Hall of Fame: "Tears of a Clone". "Pagliacci did/sadness hid" is one of the greatest rhymes evah.
George Harrison -What Is Life
Bread - It Don't Matter To Me
Pacific Gas & Electric - Are You Ready
Badfinger - No Matter What
Elton John - Your Song
Joe Cocker - The Letter
Free - All Right Now
Grateful Dead - Truckin'
Neil Young - When You Dance, I Can Really Love
Smokey Robinson - Tears of a Clown

I absolutely love the Harrison, Badfinger, and Neil songs. No Matter What, more than any song or album from back in the day, serves as the blueprint for the Stone Roses sound of 1988-1990, IMO.

Fri 11/4/11: Weekend Songs
on a Friday? no, really?
and right before 10@10 they subjected us to Thorogood AND Journey. Y&S2.
But wow, we start with a Who rarity: "Success Story" -- can't remember the last time I heard this one. BOS1FRA
"Weekend Songs" Hall of Fame Award: the Easybeats.
another rarity: ZZT "Just Got Paid". VHM, tho' I'd love it if Bob segued to Johnny Kemp's song of the same title. (never happen)
EJ's best friend floats in the bottom of a glass. In bar at 53rd & 3rd, I'm guessing.
the Fogerty version of "Almost sat Nite" gets a BOS2
VHM the Cure -- "Friday I'm in Love" probably doesn't get nearly as much play on the Drive as it does on KFOG.
WOS Loverboy, traditional tho' it may be.
the Cat Man's "Another Sat Nite" is also an across-the-board frequent flier, but it remains one of my fave covers evah. ooo! la!
"S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y K-A-T-R-I-N-A"
uber-BOS3 Dave Edmunds fantabulous Everly Bros hommage.
Who - Success Story
Easybeats - Friday On My Mind
ZZ Top - Just Got Paid
Elton John - Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting
John Fogerty - Almost Saturday Night
Cure - Friday I'm In Love
Loverboy - Working For the Weekend
Cat Stevens - Another Saturday Night
Bay City Rollers - Saturday Night

Doesn't backwash float in the bottom of a glass? Ewww..
Rocking zz top song. I wanted them to play that one at the Bone Bash concert last year, but the geezers would not comply. and I agree on fogerty's Almost Sat Nite, that's a good one.

Y&S
I have seen this term used thrice in the past couple of days and have checked the glossary to no avail.
What does it mean?

Y&S
I have seen this term used thrice in the past couple of days and have checked the glossary to no avail.
What does it mean?
it's a recent addition, I guess no one updated the glossary -- Y&S meeans "yeesh and sheesh", a sort of "I'm rolling my eyes at teh awfulness of this song/set"
