I'm tempted to minus one Jack Johnson just on principle.
-
our 2nd visit to 2002 -- I was expecting a 1st 2004 set so maybe DC has decided that 2003 is a far back as we need to go... for now.
AL's first '02 visit in August wasn't that bad -- just sorta snoozy...

Per an exchange just now between Webster & AL , we are def getting Eminem. Da moment -- You own it!

I predict a landslide BOS!
-
Thank gawd it's Nickel CREEK and not NickelBACK. VHM.
-
WOS1 No Doubt.
-
whoa! Bluegrassus interruptus from Nickel Creek to the OC reggae stylings of No Doubt!
-
Blah...she ain't no hollaback girl underneath it all.
-
U2? produced by Radiohead?
-
I'm not sure what y'all have against No Doubt. I mean, it's not something I would ever listen to on purpose, but it doesn't make me run screaming from the room.

my initial reaction was "oh no, it's reggae that's not Jamaican or English!" But it was a decent song, I admit.
I wouldn't give it a WOS.
I might give this next one a WOS, though.
-
So, Jimmy Eat World is legal in 2 years? Proxy of GazWOS.

I loved the first album. after that...meh. And Stefani's solo stuff has done her no favors IMHO.

I've been hearing this a lot during regular business hours at KFOG. Between this and Southside...how edgy of them! ::)
I wouldn't mind hearing Mr Brightside in the regular rotation, if they're looking for alt-lite hits.
-
Bonnie Raitt/past sell-by date. I'm a poet!
-
This sounds like the male version of "Underneath It All".
-
I also might give Bonnie Raitt a "Ho_Hum of Set," but I saw her at HSBG, hanging out back stage and she seemed pretty nice.
She was getting some coffee, and I didn't recognize her up close, we were both sort of jostling for prime coffee position (!), but some guy I was chatting with recognized her and asked her to take a picture with him. He then turned to me and asked me if I wouldn't mind holding the camera. I said "If she's cool with it."
Of course she was nice about it, but I thought the guy was out of bounds asking in the first place. not appropriate.
She didn't perform, but she watched all of Dr. John's set as well as The Blind Boys of Alabama. My god! The Blind Boys were fantastic! And Dr. John is a legend. Good times.
holy shit, more white boy reggae. WTFWOS.

didn't we hear this recently? I remember being struck by "amber is the color of your energy"
-
Luce's *other* song?
-
I like Luce's voice, so I'll BOS this even though it has a very Soccer Mom Jeans feel.
-
Luce's *other* song?
Yawn. Half this set sounds like stuff you'd hear on KOIT. We are in dire need of Eminem. Or JT. Help.

Fred P has "never heard this song before".

Ha! I was in a restaurant Monday that played KOIT and was amazed how many KFOG songs I heard in an hour. RHCPs -- they're everywhere!
-
WOS2 Sideshow Bob.
-

Pretty lightweight song, but I had to play it in a band for a biotech xmas party, and it was kinda fun. My thumb got a workout!

I completely understand what you are saying. Now we have Counting croWOS...
Ok, ladies! do the scooty butt dance! the kind where you make sure you don't spill your drink!
-
Eminem BOS by a country mile. Great request, RG.
-
the precious Eminem!! uber-BOS Mr Mathers!
-
OK so we got 2 songs (311 and Jimmy eat World) that we heard in our only 2001 set. And she apparently only played 9 songs. WTF?
ETA: and the first post-10@10 song is... "Don't Dream It's Overplayed". Jose F must be creaming his jeans.
-
WOS2 Sideshow Bob.
can't spell Crows without WOS.

Well played, sir.
Though I have to admit that I really liked them initially. I AM the Rain King. (Also, I am a sucker for literary references, intended or not -- Henderson the Rain King is one of my favorite Bellow novels). That being said, I didn't hear most of the set and don't know which Crows tune was played.
-
A bit snoozy...but could have been worse.
She did not have to play "American Girls." If she had to play the CC, she should have played the good single from that album: "Miami."
Wrong No Doubt song. Both snoozy and too severe of a Hot-AC-recurrent. But at least it wasn't "Hey Baby."
The other song she WAS going to play was the equally snoozy "We're Going to Be Friends" by The White Stripes.
BOS Eminem, HM Starsailor.
-

Wow, she really only played nine? Given the way this set was playing out, I'd say that's an act of mercy.
I seem to recall Dave doing that once or twice, but this might be the first time AL's done it.
