Hmm...Just a
promise shot in the dark: 1981?

a good guess, as we haven't done '81 since mid-August. OTOH we haven't done 1970 since May, but '81 is probably more likely. Or maybe our first 2004 set will be mysterious.

The Jimmy Cliff "I can see Clearly" remake from Cool Runnings -- '92? '93? '94?
followed by "Black Hole Sun"

Probably 1993. Which means that my long-running request of the Judybats' "Incredible Bittersweet" will not get played again.

then it's probably 1994 (I want to say "I Can See Clearly" was released in '93, but it was more of a '94 hit).
Which means my long-running request of Aimee Mann's "Say Anything" will probably not get played.

VHM "Black Hole Sun". This, believe it or not, sounded like bubblegum pop as compared to the rest of Soundgarden's show when I saw them earlier this year. Which was awesome.
-
"Black Hole Sun" just made someone's day on FB. Guess he doesn't get out much.
-
Dunno who this is sittin' around watchin' the rain fall... "She's Got Wings"?

Well, it is overcast right now.

Shawn Colvin's Police cover gets a VHM.

Which tune? I don't get the hate for Amos.

It's the equivalent of preferring Bush over Nirvana. Cray cray, I say!

"God". I just think building your career around sounding exactly like someone else makes you less interesting.
WOS2 STP.

BOS "If '60s Was '90s"
-
BOS "If '60s Was '90s"
Ditto, though I would prefer it if the 90s were the 60s.
-
WOS3 Serial Mom -- John Waters at the end of his creative rope.
-
BOS =W= "Say It Ain't So". Hell yeah.
Rivers is a vastly underrated guitarist.
-
FWIW, my '94 wish-list. (one of the few years I've never gotten a request played in)
Top of the World (Shonen Knife)
Lucas With the Lid Off
Most Beautiful Girl… (Prince)
Here Comes the Hotstepper (Ini kamoze)
Stones in the Road (Mary Chapin Carpenter)
All That Heaven Will Allow (Mavericks)
Evie’s Tears (Freedy Johnston)

Presumably Weezer appears because their ex-bassist died over the weekend.

even tho' he wasn't in the band in '94.
and speaking of building your career around sounding exactly like someone else: Tom Petty!
-
BOS for the Offspring. I remember listening to this on KOME, which was doing this sort of thing in those days.
-
WOS4 Forrest Gump, a hateful reactionary movie disguised as a baby-boomer lovefest.
BOS2 Offspring -- you gotta keep 'em sep-a-rated! This was a Live 105 biggie, too.
-
credit where credit etc: there were several bustouts here, Offspring for sure and a couple others methinks.
-
WOS4 Forrest Gump, a hateful reactionary movie disguised as a baby-boomer lovefest.
Wow, someone's certainly got his crankypants in a bunch today! :D

sorry, it's really quite a conservative film, despite the nonstop '60s sndtk. Free Love: bad! The Military: good!

There is also the implication that, no matter what your cranial ability, if you just act in a positive way, then good things will happen. A bit too simplistic for my tastes.
OTOH, I do have to disagree with your characterization of Tori Amos as “Kate Bush Lite”. Sure, they’re more or less in the same genre, but I find them distinctive.

AL posted a 1994 video bonus track, Blur's "Parklife" (feat. Phil Daniels, aka Jimmy from Quadrophenia) which would've been a major BOS for me (and maybe a bustout?) Oi!
-
The Offspring does indeed look like a bustout (good song for 10@10) too as well as Shawn Colvin and Weezer. I think Jimmy Cliff too, actually. She's played Parklife twice before. If I didn't have the Beautiful People album, then I would have wondered about whether or not we'd hear anything besides "If 60s were 90s," but the rest of the album, sadly, isnt' too good. They dedicated Black Hole Sun to Al Davis around 7 this morning. Tori Amos has plenty of good songs, just not "God" (or "Cornflake Girl".) My dreams of hearing Real McCoy continue to die a little more of a slow agonizing death with every 10 @ 10 1994 set.
