25 requests within 1/2 hour! Who says the 70s aren't popular?
Wouldn't mind hearing Dazz by Brick. I really wanna hustle down the Soul Train line, baby!

Seriously, all their requests are on 103.7's regular rotation!
I wanted to give "In The Flesh" some props, since X-Offender gets played the most off of that LP. :)
-
Is it just me, or do the pre-10@10 commercials go on a lot longer than they used to?
-
Seger never forgets. But I'd like to.
-
TOTHK Mr Seger, but lots of potential for this set, so let's see if we get a bustout.

clearly, advertisers are clamoring to reach that new younger KFOG demo!

Egad, no! WOS Tom Petty
just once I'd like to hear the Roger McGuinn version.
-
Is this Bobby Palmer?
-

BOS "Man Smart, Woman Palmer"
VHM de Rastamon.

heh, I agree he's WAAAAY overplayed - esp on KFOG - but this is one of his best songs.
In a recent interview, Big Rick Stuart took a shot at KFOG's timid playlist and general soccer mom sound choices by saying something like "if you sound like lite Tom Petty, KFOG will play your music."
-
Apart from Bobby P, this has been a 10@10 for Dummies.

I should probably change my WOS to a "Most Unnecessary", I just don't need to hear Tom for the next year or so.
-
yikes, when was the last time ya heard "Killing of Georgie"? VHMFRA. (a sundaygal request, iirc)
-
yay, this is sundaygal's awesome request!

Even though I try to resist the club's tendencies to diss music they hear too much (good music is good music, which is apart from how often it's played) I have to agree about Tom Petty. I loved Petty at first, saw his first tour/show at the Old Waldorf, etc. But KFOG does indeed overplay him to death. The true point is they continually play the mediocre along with the classic Petty, denigrating the overall Petty Appreciation Index!

But Rod Stewart lifts the bar a bit.

Yay! It's been awhile since I got a request played. Such a great song. Ooh...the long version to boot!

While the songs are dissimilar, I get the titles confused in my head between this and "Madame George"
-
"Georgie", meet Freddie.
-
"Somebody To Love" sounds great today. I'll need to remember to request the George Michael version for a '93 10@10.
-
"Somebody To Love"
my mondegreen:
"I work (he works hard) every day of my life
I work till I ache my balls."
still works, though.
-
VHM EWF. let's getaway!

BOS or VHM for EWF!

BOS for Getaway! Great song. I was in a short-lived band in high school that tried to play this. I was playing piano. It did us in :-).

I'm definitely not good enough of a bass player to do this song!
-
I love HotChoc, but "Sexy Thing" is way too overplayed a cliche for me to be enthusiastic.
-
Hot Chocolate was an interesting blend of Brits and guys from Trinidad/Tobago, hence their sound. And this hit made the Top 10 in each of three decades!

Saved from Disco Duck! VHM for Boz.

I'm guessing "Disco Duck" is the 1976 version of "Macarena" in the sense we'll never hear the whole thing.

wasn't it used in The Full Monty or some other cheerful Brit Com movie?

1987 and in '97 (because of its use in the film The Full Monty)

OMFG! BOS2 Boz!!
Such a great album, as I've recently discovered. But, yes...Tinka is right. He does sound like Fozzy Bear at times!

I'm guessing top ten in other countries, cause it certainly didn't go US Top 10 in 1987 (1997 is a bit harder to figure out, as Billboard had drastically changed their rules at that point). And I wasn't trackingthen.
