No clues so far but we haven't had a '90s set this week (!) and I'll be floored if we don't hit that decade today.
-
Well, you're right, and we start off with a WOS candidate, Smash Mouth

Ack! I am out of here!

I hate this. Until the chorus. And only because of the third chord they play in it.
-
To be fair, I think it is a bustout. And I like how this song was performed at the end of "Rat Race". But that's about it.
-
"Murder (Or A Heart Attack)" - one of the best cat songs around! And currently in my iPOD lineup - there needs to be a term for that.
-
A snippet for William "The Vegan" Clinton.
-
"Take A Picture"... another of those hits that doesn't quite mention the title within.

not so into the Smash Mouth, but the Old 97s and Filter songs are just the poppy hook stuff I need now.
-
Also... one of the biggest hits about vomiting on an airplane, if I remember the song meaning properly.
-
"Make your way back home and learn to drive", I've said a few times.
-
Hey, it's Foo Fighters that I don't mind.
more pop hooks.. I'll take it.
-
Gee, how exciting, I get to hear the last part of 1999
;)

For all of the overplayed songs played so far, it actually sounds good.

I have no words to say about this instrumental.

I have no words to say about this instrumental.
I'm bored and I'm going to listen to some David Allen Coe. :)

for second there, I thought we went to an online stream commercial break. (This is/was the incidental music they play when they can't run the ad.)
-
Egad no, not Eagle Eye Cherry. I remember being sick of it then.

What is this Y2K song - NTM
-
WOS to the NTM instrumental and the NTM Y2K song. Eagle-Eye was faintly pleasant but I'm not enjoying this set.
-
What is this Y2K song - NTM
Me too. Sounded like Louden Wainwright III.
-
WOS3 to what KFOG believes is the only song Ben Harper ever wrote.

this song started off innocently enough with some pleasant poppy stuff, but it's devolved into a reggae/bloozy snoozefest

They did give "Burn To Shine" and "Diamonds On The Inside" a few spins, but I get your point.

he played the Warfield last night I think
-
Guilty Pleasure for Len - is it a bustout?

true, but it's still a good song with a great bass line!

It appears Sandra Ramirez is a bit disappointment - who says progress can't happen?
-
Lawd, I am thankful to have missed this set. My 1999 wishlist is all the pop stuff that woulda saved it from boredom:
Believe (Cher)
Maria (Blondie)
Baby One More Time (Britney)
David Duchovny [Why Won’t You Love Me] (Bree Sharp)
-
Guilty Pleasure for Len - is it a bustout?
me, too! and don't think so.
-
What does "Steal My Sunshine" sample?
-
I know I'm late on a stream, but what's this track with the clip clop rhythm track?
-
Eh... "Kiss Me".... definitely unnecessary.
-
What does "Steal My Sunshine" sample?
is it Hippy Chick?

I don't understand this at all. What is it about?

SHe says "This doesn't feel like a 10@10, more like a KFOG regular playlist".

from FB:
"I get a big kick out of the "More More More" samples in this record."
dude nailed it
-
I used to like SNTR's "Kiss Me," until realizing they didn't have another song in them.

She's a FB Foghead whose tastes are often... pedestrian. Some of us do double duty, posting in both places simultaneously.
-
OK, time to get up and dance to Fatboy Slim.
-

remember their "Don't Dream It's Over" cover that was pulled from KFOG after, like, one play? I've never heard Fogheads so upset (well, until recently).

Ahhhh, got it. I googled her and she isn't, um, disappointing at all ;-)
-
No "praise" for this pedestrian set.

Is SNTR a name or an acronym?

I didn't feel like typing out "Sixpence None the Richer."

I did like "Breathe Your Name" off of the same album, but I don't believe KFOG touched that.

I hate "Praise You". Awful.

SRW: this doesn't feel like a 10@10 but the usual KFOG playlist...

Rated +1 Rhett Miller was actually at the time my uncle's roommate when they lived in LA. My uncle had a cat whom he was insanely obsessed with. The cat was his best friend basically. So my uncle was out touring with a band and Rhett accidentally let the cat get out.
This is why he was so frantically searching for the cat. And when he says "leaving myself open to a murder or a heart attack" it meant my uncle was either going to kill him or he was going to have a heart attack from being so nervous about losing the cat.
It was really cool growing up knowing Rhett. Haven't seen him in years but my uncle is actually on their tour with them as i leave this comment. which is pretty cool.

The set wasn't that bad, except for Kiss Me. BOS/Len, VHM/Euphoria.
Way too many frequent fliers for a year we haven't been to that many times, though. The Travis song never needs to be played on 10@10 again. She played Loudon Wainwright as the actual first song of the first 1999 set. This set was awfully similar to this set:
3/31/10 A Mystery Year this Wednesday*
1. The Old 97's- Murder (Or A Heart Attack) (B.O.S tie!)
2. Guster- Barrel Of A Gun
3. Travis- Why Does It Always Rain On Me
(News: Tony Blair/ Ireland)
4. Collective Soul- Run

6. Ben Harper- Burn To Shine
7. Moby- Porcelain (B.O.S tie!!)
(TV: Jon Stewart on Bill and Hill news)
8. Filter- Take A Picture
9. Sting- Brand New Day
(TV: Ted Danson in Becker)
10. Santana feat Dave Matthews- Love Of My Life
* Yes indeed...you got it! The Big hits of... 1999!

As was often the case when Dave was in the driver's seat, the more recent the year, the smaller the pool of songs he seemed to draw from.
