I think Lulu's a given (it fills the '60s quota for August! ;) ). Supertramp... we'll see.
-
Impressive suggestion list: everything from ABBA's "When I Kissed the Teacher" to the Smiths' "Headmaster Ritual". Now THAT'S variety!

Frankly if TSWL does show up I hope it is the Lulu original and not the Merchant/Stipe remake that would fit more in the preferred vintage.

don't look at me -- far from my fave Macca tune (tho' I'd love the flip, "Mull of Kintyre" in a '77 set)

OMG! Oldest song AL has played in ages. BOS the Chuckster.
-
Hail Hail Rock and Roll (and Chuck Berry)!
-
inevitable selection A: Rockpile.
-
VHM Beach Boys. it's the non-cheerleader version, thankfully.
-
Not the original single version of Beach Boys "Be True to Your School" with cheerleading by The Honeys, who included Brian's soon to be then real life wife Marilyn.

I absolutely HATE that version. They may have been teenagers, but the cheerleaders sound like 40-year-old secretaries from Queens.

it's the new math: she had to subtract a '60s song because she played a '50s tune.
-
BOS2: Sam's Cooke-ing.
-
Sam Cooke "Wonderful World" - at least she didn't play the Art Garfunkel/Paul Simon/James Taylor remake. ;)
-
BOS South Park > Conjunction Junction
-
BOS South Park > Conjunction Junction
I'll give a BOS for Schoolhouse Rock. I loved that stuff. "Conjunction Junction" is one of the best.
-
BOS South Park > Conjunction Junction
indeed: BOS3 from me.

BOS4 Ramones, but of course. "do your parents *know* you're Ramones??"

Nat Merch strikes again with the crappy cover song. Girlfriend sounds like she's gargling on a tapioca drink.
BOS The Ramones & Sam Cooke.
-
BOS The Ramones with their score from the serious documentary of the same name.
-
Sam Cooke "Wonderful World" - at least she didn't play the Art Garfunkel/Paul Simon/James Taylor remake. ;)
gawd, I hate that version

Not sure I've ever heard it, but I have to point out that the Geils version on Live! Full House is also much better. This version off of their first album just doesn't have the same energy.
-
OMFG! Maggie Smith! Clip of the Day.
coulda done without Timbuk3, I must say.
-
I thought the Lulu cover was WOS...but wait! Here's Timbuk 3 to take that title!

I don't have it here on my laptop, but I'll dig it out for you, I think you'll like it. Raw Peter Green.
