I can't believe there are people -- Fogheads, who presumably should know better -- who misspell "Janice" Joplin and "Jimmie" Hendrix. Drives me right up the wall.

Saw it coming, but still can't get over it.  Loved her.  Rest in peace, girl.

Sadly, a long list of musicians who died at age 27.  In addition to the above mentioned, the "27 Club" includes bluesman Robert Johnson, Rudy Lewis of the Drifters, Canned Heat leader Alan 'Blind Owl' Wilson, "Pigpen" of the Grateful Dead, Dave Alexander of the Stooges, Pete Ham of Badfinger, Gary Thain of Uriah Heep, Chris Bell of Big Star, Pete de Freitas of Echo & the Bunnymen, Malcolm Hale of Spanky & Our Gang, Roger Lee Durham of Bloodstone, Wallace Yohn of Chase ("Get It On"), and many more.  The list:

Be careful what you wish for.  Do you really want Lindsay Lohan to live on as legend like the others?

The Onion posted a story headlined "London Pawn Shop Returns Amy Winehouse’s Grammy Awards Out Of Respect"  and apparently pulled it down after people complained it was, y'know, "too soon".

Folks... it's the f---ing ONION!

Ronnie Spector pays tribute to Amy and her own troubled past.  She also covers Back To Black.  Great vocals, but crappy backing track.

Apparently, there were no illegal drugs found in her system (!).

great pairing of singer & song.  And yeah, I'm stunned by the "no drugs in her system" thing.

ETA, as someone on FB has noted, the report says "no ILLEGAL drugs".  So if she had a prescription for painkillers... or it coulda been alcohol.... or the stress of trying to quit any of the above.

Hearing this, it sounds obvious that Ronnie could have been an influence.  Hadn't occurred to me before.

yeah, she (Amy) gave interviews in which she genuflected at the altar of Ronnie.
