Post by: RGMike on July 15, 2011, 08:47:44 AM
the great writer/producer. "Cry Baby," "Piece of My Heart," "Get It While You Can," "Time Is on My Side" and "Stay With Me." This is so new Wikipedia hasn't been updated yet!

Lots of great songs, some of my favorites.  For some reason, however, seeing the name Ragavoy triggers the memory of "Stop" off the Super Session album featuring a tour de force solo by Mike Bloomfield.  Looking in Wikipedia, they don't mention that version, but instead versions by Howard Tate, James Gang, Jimi Hendrix, Band of Gypsys.

odd TANC: listening to a Little Steven show from a few weeks ago; since he records up to a month in advance, he made no mention of Jerry Ragovoy's death, but he happened to be doing a tribute to Harry Dean Stanton and so he played (of all versions!) Bette Midler's take on "Stay With Me" from The Rose.
