if AL were here we might've got a "Rain" set.  Dave did one once, iirc.

EJ goes al Philly on yo' ass. he's been "knee high to a man" more times than he can count.

Philly freedom always sounds good.  And I'm sure any GD will be good too.

I do believe that the song is actually about a professional tennis team.

I believe either 1975 or 1974 holds the record for most #1 hits in a calendar year (there was I think a stretch of 12 weeks with 12 different #1s).

Billie Jean King's team, no less.

BOS for "Venus and Mars/Rock Show".  I like the Wings Over America version better, but then that's what I grew up listening to.

Frampton heard this right before he recorded "Comes Alive" and said -- hey! I can do that too!

Hee. Somewhere Geoff's ears are ringing. ;)

ETA: someone on FB called it one of the "GRATEST" (sic) songs ever. To which I couldn't resist replying "or one of the grating-est, depending on your POV"

Wow, I'm sorry I missed this, but yes, what can I say?  Certainly a classic song, but then I'd have to explain it.  Different strokes...
