Title: 23 June 2011: it's... 1979
Post by: RGMike on June 23, 2011, 07:44:43 AM
Heard a promo that mentioned "the year Happy Meals were first sold". Not sure if this is a new one or if AL begins her long weekend today.

ya just can't argue with Fogheads. AL has a 1979 thread up on FB, not soliciting requests but ... I had this exchange with a guy asking for some Sylvester:

Albert Basso ‎"Can't Stop Dancing" came out in 1979 Some Sylvester to get us in the Pride mood would be nice

Me Methinks we'll hear Sylvester tomorrow :-)

Albert Basso yeah but most likely the same old "you make me feel Mighty Real" which is good, but Sylvester had so many other great songs...

My point of course is that AL doesn't like to play the same artist 2 days in a row; and granted I know tomorrow will be a rerun and Mr. Basso probably doesn't, but still...

You have no idea how much I love this movie.  Almost as much as like the guitar solo in this song!

points for working in the 'Katrina' word angle, but I have to say no way!  awesome song!  and we get the long version..! seems lately everyone has played the shorted version with the truncated guitar solo.

I saw it on TV back in '80 or '81.  I remember being emotionally upset by one scene involving shouting over a whipped-cream-topped dessert, but I don't remember details.

Ooh!  BOS3 Ace, scoring at 3rd and 43.

I was actually just on the phone with Shray, and he says a big giant BOS to Ace Frehley.  (he also wanted me to proxy a Gaz BOS for him, but I told him Gaz is here on his own.)   He says Hi to everyone.

ok, guilty pleasure time!

Pina Colada Song is so freaking silly when you listen to the lyrics.

She said "aw, it's you"  What she DIDN'T say was "us two cheaters deserve each other, don't we?  Let's get drunk on these crappy sugary-sweet drinks."
