the thread is up and we're being held to a one-song request limit again. I went with a deep track from Fulfillingness' First Finale: "Please Don't Go"

and the lamb lies down with Giter Dunn. or something.

OK, that doesn't sound too appealing. Lambs layin down does sound good however in the lead off position.
-
we get the Todd AL promised... Not my favorite, but he's always welcome

I wish I'd been so lucky!
Chicago gets my BOS so far.

-
BOS, Rick Derringer -- "Rock And Roll Hootchie Koo"
-
VHM Doobs and Derringer.
-
Rick Derringer with an all-time classic!
Never get tired of this riff. When we were kids the line "C'mon little pussy, want to do it to you" made us flip out.

OMFG! one from my wishlist I didn't even ask for: BOS5 Marvin & Diana in separate studios because Diana hated the smell of pot.

Good little-known factoid. NTM I think.

I very nearly requested Grace's "Come Again Toucan" but "Ride the Tiger" will do in a pinch. BOS6.
-
BOS Starship
It's like a tear in the hands of a western man
Tell you about salt, carbon and water
But a tear to a chinese man
He'll tell you about sadness and sorrow or the love of a man and
A woman.
-
VHM, "Ride The Tiger". Very cool guitar intro, and nice soloing throughout.

Awesome little tidbit of info!
I heard someone tell a sanitized version recently (Diana was preggers and Marvin was a "chain smoker", heh heh) but I like the pot one better.

Methinks Marvin was cuckoo for cocoa puffs...

Well, so much for my hopes of Diana going on tour with 311.

I knew the Chicago was familiar: Dave played it twice (!) -- once in a '74 set and once in an "all-request" Strictly Instrumental thang.

This always reminds me of Mr. Burns spying on Greenpeace:
“That’s right, the man you thought was Wavy Gravy has been smoking harmless tobacco all this time”.

I bet insurance companies are pissed! Who *are* these anti-tobacco lobbyists, anyway? And why don't they put these awful labels on cars and bottles of alcohol? And on genetically-modified tomatoes?

I'm guessing... Santana? BOS3FRA
I'm guessing too, but I'm guessing not Santana. No clue. Sounds a little more like Chicago to me.
Sounds like AL took the bait on my suggestion for the day: Mongonucleosis, by Chicago. Have to catch the replay tonight!

Nice pick, hadn't heard it in many years. Here it is performed on New Year's Rockin' Eve 1975, I didn't know Toni Tennille was in Chicago (or whoever that is on stage)? ;)

another clever bit of segue-ing that I only caught up with on the replay: Nixon meets his Waterloo and America changes horses.
AL has been on a roll since Friday's "Dads" set.

I very nearly requested Grace's "Come Again Toucan"
If AL has that I'll be beyond gobsmacked. Great selection, though!

I figured since she played "Pretty as You Feel" it's possible. Also planning on "Have You Seen the Saucers" when 1970 comes up.

Now *that's* a hard-to-find record. A "Saucers"/"Mexico" twin spin would be out of this world.

What a bizarre intersection! The three of us agreeing on this song!
