Maybe Annalisa has decided she'd rather do it herself. Second consecutive day with no hints or queries for requests.
In any case, since we got a 70s set yesterday, one for the 90s seems almost unavoidable. But I've been known to be wrong before. :D

My thoughts exactly; maybe she was celebrating the Bruins' victory last nite.

Let's hope it's early 90s!

Per AL's FB page, Scott Fisher is running nude thru the woods in Tennessee. Ewww!
-
ick: 1993. No expectations here.
my '93 wishlist was pretty skimpy:
I Don’t Wanna Fight (Tina Turner)
Show Me Love (Robin S)
I’ll Do anything for Love (Meat Loaf)
and I surely don't expect any of 'em to pop up today.
-
Kickin' things off with Depeche Mode. Not a shabby start!

Hahahaha! But, yeah - WTF is his deal??

I'll give this a VHMFRA. I was actually listening to a lot of country in '93.
Tears for 'Trinas break it down again.

World Party -- nice but nothing new.
-
WOS1 Big Bore Todd and the Snoozesters. Ugh.
but the FB-Fogheads are giving it much love.
-
BOS New Order. Forgot about this one.

Yeah, BOS so far.

ah, the Freddie Jones Band (which doesn't contain anyone actually named Freddie Jones, iirc). A KFOG staple in '93

Very David Grayesque. Not that that's a good thing...

Yeah, that song bored me then. Nothing has changed.

Yeah, he manages to be both a suck-up and incredibly creepy. Someone else on FB sucks up to her in a royally annoying way, but manages to avoid being creepy.

BOS New Order. Forgot about this one.
I'm assuming "Regret"? If so, from what I've seen, BOS.

Yes, and yes!

yes - it *is* "Babylon"ian. or maybe they just babble on.
BOS2 Tasmin Archer. Whatever became of...?

Damn how disappointing, as these early 90's sets wind up being all-too-often.
Where's Dada? The Judybats? Julianna Hatfield 3? Meat Loaf? Smashing Pumpkins? Pavement (the recco was much appreciated, btw)? Tasmin Archer? Janet Jackson? something from "Zooropa"? Hell, Debbie Gibson?

Right as I was posting the lack of...
I think she had a falling out with her manager, or something, causing her to forever leave music. Doesn't make a lick of sense.

Don't think I ever heard either of those songs, the first of which I'm grateful for.
Was getting my oil changed (well, actually my car's oil, I'm not the Tin Man), missed the first half of the set & turned the radio on right at the beginning of Big Head T & M. Had no idea where we were until the Mrs. Doubtfire clip.

Stereo MCs FTW!

Yeah, be thankful you weren't near KFOG in '93. They were fairly dull; all the action was on Live 105 (see: Stereo MCs, BOS3)
Remind me again what they're sampling on "Connected"?
-
I really love "In A Daydream", but then again I was in Taiwan then & never heard it until 1997 at the earliest. Same with "Sleeping Satellite". So I guess I've got BOS's for New Order and each of the above.
"I ain't gonna go blind..." at least a VHM for Stereo M C's.
Stumble, you might fall.
-
a Foghead just voted for "Blame it on the Sattellite" -- didn't the Jacksons do that one?
-
BOS for the Breeders! NOT on KFOG at the time.
-
F***ing A!!!
Now this is one that I actually DID hear in Taiwan back then, awesome dance floor song.
Forget everything else. BOS "Cannonball".
(also an alison fwiw)
ETA: this is one of those songs that you simply cannot play effectively at low volume. My condolences for those of you listening at work...
-
"Cannonball" -- another Live 105 fave

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Hiatt attacks!

An AL fave, too. Would've preferred something else off of Last Splash.

Nothing out of the ordinary but still a pretty epic '93 set, imo. Only one I really wish wasn't there was the Breeders. On a bad day the Stereo MC's would annoy me too...but they sounded pretty good on 10@10 today. BOS's, in descending order, to New Order, John Hiatt (LOVE PGG...my second fav. by him, after Master of Disaster), TFF (pretty 'trina-tastic...does seem 10@10 is the only place on any station we hear that particular song, though), Depeche Mode, Freddy Jones Band, & Big Head Todd/Monsters (they have their share of snoozers, but Bittersweet, although overplayed, ain't one of them.) I like Sleeping Satellite but wish they'd play something besides that...in fact, does Tasmin Archer even have anything else? I would've loved to hear the Captain Hollywood Project.

I don't think any other Archer song got significant airplay, but I really enjoyed "Arienne" (made #13 on my personal chart that year), as well as "Lords Of The New Church", "Steeltown", "Somebody's Daughter", and "Halfway To Heaven" off of the same Great Expectations album. Her EP "Shipbuilding" featured a cover of "Deep Dark Truthful Mirror".

Thanks for ruining my morning.
Now there's a mental image I really did NOT need to have.
Not a bad set but very up and down, with lots of Moreyesque components (i.e. World Party, Stereo MCs, TFF, Tasmin Archer, Hiatt, and Big Head Todd and the Yawnsters). Wish I'd stuck around for the Breeders cut--it would have been my BOS.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Hiatt attacks!
I'm somewhat surprised sir at your recent adverse reactions to Mr. Hiatt. How long have you felt this way? Here I thought JH was a well-respected songwriter!

Well, I'm admittedly "going with the flow" of majority opinion here. I was a fan back in the day, and I'd LOVE for AL to play Rodney Crowell's cover of "She Loves the Jerk" some day. But he's like a lot of Triple-A format artists that KFOG (over)plays: I'm just tired of him.
