Yay! the "back-door" to the stream is working!
-
Is "Midnight Rider" tune #1? I just realized the electric piano solo here was heavily cribbed for same on the Jefferson Starship's "Love Too Good." Hrm.

Indeed this is song 1 -- tho' they played "We're an American Band" immediately preceding the set.

VHM ELO
ROTFROMB!
(Rolling on the Floor Rolling Over My Beethoven)
-
WOS to "Roll Over Beethoven." Never cared for this one.

I'm shocked -- SHOCKED, I tell you!
Todo da bien Chevrolet! BOS Stevie!
-
WOS L&M, a shameless attempt to clone "Your Mama Don't Dance". Points deducted for gratuitous Timothy B Schmidt reference.
-
VHM 3DN, tho' I'd prefer to hear the BW Stevenson version more frequently. Mr S musta been smoking something quite powerful on the road to Shambala.

Grr! I had to tune out Stevie after getting yet another phone call from a publicist I'd been dodging. One of the problems with using a cell phone exclusively for business is that callers can tell when I'm unavailable and when I'm just not picking up.

ooo! BOS 2 Da Stones. "Dancin' Wit Mr. D". I love Mick when he gets all Satanic.
-
VHM American Graffitti clip. That movie was the first time I ever heard the word "bitchin'".
-
"Frankenstein" is still such a difficult listen for me. Most unexpected #1 ever, I would argue.

unexpected? not in '73...

Left out in our building's give-n-take table yesterday: a stack of cassettes, including a home recording of Nixon's resignation speech. Which I of course grabbed. What a curious document to have.
OOH! BOS to "Half-Breed"! Kick it, squaw-child!
-
OMGWFTLOL! "Half Breed". The Drive's willingness to play Cher will always endear them to me (and you too, Gaz, I'm sure).

Pretty cool. First song that made me sit up and take notice. BOS.

Dave's selective approach to cheeze is often baffling. He'll play some worthless piece of obscure disco crapola but he's afraid Fogheads will freak if he plays Cher? Whatever.

Perhaps, with the Allman song earlier in the set, a subtle comment on their short-lived tryst?
