oops, it's '77. We can be hee-woes! Stand-by for "Lonely Boy".

I could use something danceable like Tavares today.

my '77 wishlist includes "Whodunit", but "Don't take Away the Music" would be equally swell.
Well, Ms Summer may, like Obi-Wan Kenobi, be our only hope

Heroes:
about the vocal sound: In the studio they set up three mics, one close, one medium, one far away, and each was calibrated so the gate would only open at a certain sound level: the close mic picked up lower sounds, the medium one picked up "middle" sounds, and the farthest mic picked up his high-volume yelling, which is why Bowie sounds like he's far away in the later verses.

And let's not forget the funky Alembic bass slappin' going on!
This was at the beginning of my career in the bass world. 1977 was the first trade show we displayed our neck at.

discovered yesterday that GE Smith (the one-time guitarist for the band Moonalice, which was subject to a little dreision in the Concert thread) was married to Gilda in 1980. Then she worked on a movie w/ Gene Wilder and fell for him. the two were married in 1984.
