Title: 27 May 2011: It's... 1983!
Post by: sundaygal on May 27, 2011, 07:44:00 AM
AL opened up her request line around 7:30am.  Better late than never!

Requested "Let The Music Play" (doubtful), "Poor Girl" - X, and "Legal Tender" B-52's.  Wonder if KFOG even has Shannon in their library...

I "+1'-ed" the Shannon, a truly fab 45 (bet AL has the 12" at home)and added Culture Club, Macca & MJ, and OMD.

Also requested "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues".  Might just be my fave EJ song...and a good Karaoke tune, as well.  I just now found out that Stevie Wonder plays the harmonica on it.  Duh...makes total sense now!

I'm ashamed to admit I thought this band might be big - and the Eurythmics would be a flash in the pan.

despite Stevie Ray Vaughan fantastic guitar here, I prefer the slower version.  But you know what would be cool?   A remix combining BOTH versions.  Dude!

BOS2 to Frida, steeling herself quite nicely.

an exchange this morning on FB (regarding Hot Choc's "So You Win Again") reminds me that the Frida tune was yet another hit written by Russ Ballard.
