Seems like it's inevitable that whenever AL announces a Mystery Year and includes a video touting some aspect of mystery, someone misses the point, guesses the year of said video, and then it's katie bar the door as the suggestions start flying from all quarters.
More evidence that a large percentage of fogheads are kinda clueless.
-
Ok, I admit that I was fooled, by the fact that the video was from a certain year. I guess I was just so eager to request "Sugarfree".
But at least I didn't request anything after AL herself said it wasn't 1987.
Hopefully the 'clueless' charge will be dropped. ;D

You are acquitted. Mistaken identity! Leading the witness!

Some day I'm going to request "Walking on Sunshine" in 1983 or 87(!) just to see if you guys will kick me out of the club. ;D

We are in 1967. The other day I was just listening to a '67 set that Tinka recorded for me last year, and this was there.
-
the orig "message to Rudie" -- Dandy Livingstone! BOS1. AL has played this before.
Ah, I see Gaz figured it out. Well, AL has plenty of '67 "suggestions" in her notebook.
BOS2 "Gimme Little sign" -- AL sporting some (Brenton) Wood!

We should all do it! ;D

BOS3 Velvets -- waitin' fo' da man.

heh, after hearing this MI clip I was going to say she might play Heroin, which was released in 67, too:

BOS3 Velvets -- waitin' fo' da man.
A band in need of a metronome.

I thought he was saying "I'm white and foamy, man" with a weird accent. :)

Sounds great today, though, metronome be damned. I've never liked much of anything LReed, but I guess the times are a-changing.

BOS4 Jimi. None of these have been bustouts, but fine listening nonetheless.

Agreed. And the news clips are great, too.
Woohoo for the Strawberry whatever. :)

The FB thread is hilarious today -- Fogheads never disappoint in that respect. Someone thought Dandy Livingstone was Sublime (the band, not the adjective). And there are still people who spell it "Jimmy Hendrix", apparently.
BOS5 the SAC, throwing around some meaningless nouns.

Sweet, sweet! BOS to "Wild Honey," which I think is a bustout. LOVE this!

Sweet Sweet JINX JINX! (but we have heard WH before, once from Dave and at least once from AL, methinks)

Nice to see the whole set laid out. I was driving over Chehalem Mtn. from Dundee to Hillsboro, so was again trying to listen via my phone, but the terrain is kind of erratic so the stream was in and out. Still I managed to hear at least parts of all except the Brenton Wood and Strawberry Alarm Clock. But I did get to hear the entire Waterloo Sunset, which put me in good fettle. Quite possibly the best rock song ever written--I am shocked it didn't win BOS.

and so it ends

My most vivid memory is seeing him at Winterland. Even though I'd seen the band a few times, I was up close for this one, and his joy was palpable. I'm not qualified to say whether or not he was a good drummer, but he had great spirit.
