If I Were a Carpenter.  Maybe too slow for 10@10 but lovely.
So many versions. Darin takes 66. Four Tops cover it nicely.  Plant makes it very Led Zeppy, Johnny and June too.

Excellent TOTHK with "Sleepy Asian Man".  That's what we called it when the Random Numbers played it, in honor of our Japanese keyboard player.  He was pretty sleepy.

This Green Acres clip has a decidedly digital tone to it. That's one thing that Dave took with him that would be tough to duplicate--he had a huge library of vintage analog audio to draw from.

VHM Wilson, Love, Wilson, Jardine & Wilson. It certainly would be nice.

I hope the new PD isn't clamping down on sets "going to 11+"  -- funny that all the other 10@10s have copied AL on that practice.

I suspect he might be. So far as I recall, none have gone past 10 since shortly after he arrived on the scene.

Fully agree. Prior to this the only 10@10 contributions (in the Shraytabase) for the Small Faces were a handful for Tin Soldier, and surprisingly, just one for Itchycoo Park.

That's a damn sight more than their antecedents Faces however, who appear only three times, all of which are Stay With Me.

Now, now Mike!  Bad enough to slag a song you haven't heard, but how does he 'white-ify' a song sung by a white guy?  I'm shocked, I say shocked nobody could ID Paul Butterfield!

It should be mentioned that Jerry performed it with a pair of black backing singers, Gloria Jones and Jackie LaBranch as well as Melvyn Seals, also black, on organ. All were full-time members of his band.

yeah yeah, whatevs. ::)  The point was that the Dead were famous for doing some of the whitest covers of R&B songs EVER.  (It's one of the few things I agree with Dave Marsh about)
