someone on FB just dared AL to play "Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey"! I think we should all  go to FB and "like" his comment.

Hey, I still don't get the Kate Bush joke from yesterday.  Was it something other than a reference to W?

OK, we're heading towards Hair overkill here. But BOS3 3DN anyway -- this song is 10 times more pointed and powerful within the context of the show.

Nah, not really a joke. Just a W reference. Still, I was very slow to get what was funny about Bush being prez and Dick being veep.

that's it.  maybe not a joke as much as a play on the meaning of "Bush"  -- at first, I though Swelligant was referring to the non-presidential meaning.  I realized much later he was referring to W.

proxy of Gaz, the 5th D -- if AL follows "Aquarius" with "No Matter What Sign You Are", that'd be VERY clever and cool.

Just re-heard the 40 Year Old Virgin version of "Aquarius" the other day. Somehow it didn't seem so awful.

The Onion did a great bit about how gay Republicans hated Bush but loved dick (Chaney) and colon (Powell).

I seem to recall George Carlin doing a routine about that, around 1992.

indeed, BOS6 and if AL played the Barbara Acklin vocal I'd just plotz.

(tho' Dusty and Swingout Sister did fine versions too)

Hmmm... a song with vocals redone as an instrumental, and later redone with vocals again. Interesting.

not actually redone -- this was the actual backing track from the Barbara Acklin version, which Young-Holt Unltd played on.

I realize the Box Tops came way before TA&D, but the arrangement is a similar kind of honky-tonk/barbershop.  Listen to those backup vox at the end...  not that there's anything wrong with that.
