Get your Gen-X requests in. I think I listened to Ride nonstop that year. Helluva band.
Some FBer requested I Can't Dance by Genesis. I'd rather hear the theme from Barney. Jeez.

that was our buddy Scott Fisher. His wishlist:
I'm Too Sexy, Right Said Fred
I Can't Dance, Genesis
I Can't Make You Love Me, Bonnie Raitt
November Rain, Guns N' Roses
Tears In Heaven, Eric Clapton
I'd be fine with the Bonnie Raitt; the rest? Y&S. And someone else actually wants "Bohemian Rhapsody".
I went with Pop and Soul (yeah, fat chance):
Prince, "Money Don't Matter 2 Nite"
Charles & Eddie, "Would I Lie to You"
CeCe Peniston, "Finally"

Heh. I love November Rain. One of those great guilty pleasure songs. ;D

OTOH, someone asked for Vanessa Williams' "Save the Best For Last", which is also on my '92 wishlist -- one of the best ballads of the decade and a very classy record. I'm always leery of asking for ballads; AL plays them sparingly. But I'd love to hear that one.
-
I'll admit to enjoying "I Can't Dance", but the others..... blech, "Tears In Heaven" in particular. I requested "The Rooster", "I Don't Care", "Damn! I Wish I Was Your Lover', "Taste It", and to commenorate today's International Woman's Day, "What Girls Want".
-
dee dee dee dee. BOS1 REM and some Nescafe on ice.
VHM (and proxy of gaz?) "IF I can't Change Your Mind"
-
Sugar Mould? I saw him at the Warfield lo those many ears ago, but I never got him.
someone on FB requested REM's Man On The Moon, which I would have liked.
-
Ms Lennox goes down to the waters edge to ask "Why (this Moreytrina)?"
BOS2 Chrissie & Moodswings, tho' I think we heard this fairly recently?
-
Am I listening to KOIT?
-
BOS 1&2 to Sugar/Moodswings. I know Dave played this once, at least.
Annie Lennox gets a HM, though there's plenty of other AL songs AL could'a played.
-
Sugar Mould? I saw him at the Warfield lo those many ears ago, but I never got him.
It's a gay thing.
-
Am I listening to KOIT?
Ha! KOIT's more upbeat these days.
-
I'm with Sundaygal. As Genesis might've said "I Can't Dance to this".
-
BOS Chrissie & Moodswings...albeit for perhaps the last time...as good as it is it's becoming a Katrina.
Here's hoping that Annalisa liked the one FBer's request for "Jesus Built My Hotrod" by Ministry.
-
Sugar Mould? I saw him at the Warfield lo those many ears ago, but I never got him.
It's a gay thing.
I heard that Mike Meyers is also a gay thing ... is that really true?
-
This Cure song is worth a VHM, though they really started to go downhill here.
I guess I should just be glad it's not ""Friday I'm in Love."
-
BOS Chrissie & Moodswings...albeit for perhaps the last time...as good as it is it's becoming a Katrina.
AL played it last in Jan 2010; I was thinking of the Moodswings/MLK thing we heard in Jan.

He got married over the weekend -- to a woman described as a "longtime girlfriend". But he was outed by the NY Tabs in 2008, tho' he never officially commented on it. They ran the Worst. Blind. Item. EVAH, something like
"What funnyman has found his MOJO by dating SOME YOUNG GUY and is now feeling GROOVY, BABY?"
Which of course everyone assumed was about him. Then gawker picked it up and got quotes from people in his West Village 'hood saying he'd been "dating" some young male model.
-
OK this set is offically Too Sleepy For Words.
-
Super duper BOS to The Sundays! Saw them on this tour and it remains one of the best concerts, evah.
-
BOS Sundays. Who doesn't have a crush on Harriet Wheeler? besides Mike Meyers and Bob Mould?

I had a crush on her rat's nest beehive thing!

This sounds like a rip off of Here's Where the Story Ends, though HMFRA for being a Sundays song that isn't that.
& while I'm digging the down/midtempo theme she's got so far, I hope she steps it up a notch.
-
If AL does all this snoozy stuff yet doesn't play Vanessa Williams it will be a damn shame.

I always want to "console" her after she sings My Finest Hour.
-

But the dance hit!
Woohoo for Alice in Chains!!
-
George H. W. Bush doesn't know how much milk or gas costs.
BOS2 to Rooster.. and what was that brief drum roll popping in there?
-
This set is like the Ambien I could've used last night!
-
Alice in Chains!!
[sarcasm]Thanks a LOT, shray[/sarcasm] Sorry, I never "got" them and one dead guy doesn't make them "improve with age"
-
"Warning: If your rooster won't die after four hours, call your doctor."
-
and what was that brief drum roll popping in there?
I was wondering the same thing.
-
Alice in Chains!!
[sarcasm]Thanks a LOT, shray[/sarcasm] Sorry, I never "got" them and one dead guy doesn't make them "improve with age"
singer died a while back, so that's TWO dead guys. They sound a little better now, huh? ;)
-

You beat me to the punch. :)
-
BOS#2: Screaming Trees! Stupid band name, though.
-
AL's nearly lost me here.
-
Screaming Trees... this wasn't the right song to kick things up with.
Much better set overall than the ones LW, though.
-
BOS#2: Screaming Trees! Stupid band name, though.
Not if you are an old-growth tree hugger from timber country!

Layne Staley died in, like, 2002, but Mike Starr the bassist died a couple days ago. So of course Annalisa plays the tribute to Jerry Cantrell's Vietnam vet father & not the other couple songs that were requested. "Would?" is really much better imho.
-
BOS3 Broooooooooce.
uber-BOS4 Sinead and the Pope!
WOS Barney.
aaaack! "Life is a Highway"!! (see my post in the Movie thread from yesterday).
-
BOS3 Bruce.
And UGH...she was supposed to play Thomas Dolby after Barney saying "I Love You, You Love Me," NOT Tom Cochrane.
-
Life is sooo not a f**king highway. WOS.
-
Sinead tears it up!
and...
People have been talking about "Barney's Version," and it took me awhile to stop asking, "Of what?" Damn purple dinosaur.
WOS: Cochrane
-
BOS3 Broooooooooce.
Hey wait, I almost forgot that I was the one who requested this on FB!
Sorry y'all, but a VHM at least for "...Highway". Tom Cochrane is a big sledgehammer for me, and he gets infinite grace points from me for having written "Lunatic Fringe" at the height Reagan-o-philia.
Ha Ha!!!!
-
I think that was Joan Cusack saying "Live from New York, It's Saturday Night." I met her once.
Sinead alienated many w that Pope trick, but BOS because it's Ash Wednesday. :)
-
Life is sooo not a f**king highway. WOS.
But Bob Mould and Mike Myers wanna ride each other all nite long.

Ha Ha!!!!
Freind of a friend was paired in some golf tournament with Tom Cochrane. I wonder how many "Luantic Fringe, Lunatic Rough, Lunatic Green" jokes were heard that day..
-
I'll have to BOS "The Rooster". HM to "Life Is A Highway", even if it's a Katrina. Definitely better than the Rascal Flatts cover.
Don't ever need to hear "Walking On Broken Glass" again.
-

That is priceless. And I will add that the comment Mike re-posted on the Movie Thread was equally so.

The guy who wrote that can be quite funny. A different guy who posts on the same site, today, regarding the Red Riding Hood horror flick with Amanda Seyfried that opens Fri:
"I eagerly await Hansel & Gretel, starring Megan Fox and Taylor Lautner"

I hunted down the blog you're referring to and found it, but what the guy actually said was
"I eagerly await HANSEL & GRETEL starring Megan Fox and that guy with the big disco tits from TWILIGHT."
oh my.

Actually, looking at the list, it doesn't seem so bad. I had just assumed she played "Walking On Broken Glass". And I haven't heard "57 Channels" since about 1992.

BOS Chrissie & Moodswings...albeit for perhaps the last time...as good as it is it's becoming a Katrina.
Listening to replay, loving this song, but wondered if it was a Katrina to some, not to me. BOS deluxe!
