Great year in music despite the fact that AL is threatening to turn all Japanese on us. Don't do it, girl!
Oh, and people are already piping in with their Night Ranger and Genesis requests.
I'm gonna miss this one, but can't wait to read the lovely comments here. ;)

Yeah Fogheads are split between dreck and Katrinas. And the Night Ranger tune that was requested is from '83 ::)

If for any set somebody requests "Walking On Sunshine", I think the internets might just stop working.

Please send strong karmic vibes to Dublin. Got a 9:30 interview for what looks like my best opportunity in years. And I can post this just before heading out b/c it's only 2.5 mi from my house. Just around the corner, in fact, from my kids' orthodontist!

sundaygal, you're psychic. Unfortunately. Nothing like leading with a katrina, AL.

Now thinking about sushi for lunch. Maybe not.

you (and anyone else here) are welcome to join Gaz & I for Shanghai Dumpling King dinner in SF tonite...
OMFG! "Hands Off She's Mine"! a rarity if not a bustout -- uber BOS1 and proxy of shray.
-
BOS2 Ms Ronstadt -- a KFOG 10@10 bustout (I think?) that's shown up 3 times in the past week or 2 (on Casey's '80s and on The Peak. or in Austin. or someplace)
-
BeatOS
... and I haven't heard this Linda Ronstadt (?) song in a long while. another BOS!
-
was there any other show on in 1980 besides Bosom Buddies?
-
Sunny Sunny Sunny Sunny...
VHM Rockpile, a Morey fave. The other day a Request-O-Rama winner asked for "Switchboard Susan". And I got an, er, extension.
-

well... Dallas. BB was quite brilliant at times.
-
BOS3 Mr Palmer, always runnin' around tryin' to find certainty. And girls for his videos.
-
This is not what I was listening to in 80. I know not what I am hearing ???

I sometimes found it to be a real drag. HEY-O!
sounds like the Jackson Browne's Lawyers In Love might've been influenced by this Robert Palmer tune.

so, name some stuff, 'cause this is quite '80-ish to me. BOS4 Brooooooooooooce on the (Reagan) ranch, har har.

was Blues Brothers the only movie released in 1980 (besides Airplane!)? Proxy of GazWOS, tho' I find "SHC" one of their more tolerable covers.
-
Blues Brothers! One of my favorite movies, and that band! We're putting the baaaaaand back together!

The stuff on "Briefcase Full of Blues" is a lot better than the soundtrack songs.

I had that record back then. Was that Steve Cropper on the lead? or Matt "Guitar" Murphy? (great nickname for a guitarist, btw...)

which is sad, considering "BFOB" includes "Rubber Biscuit" ;)

They're both on that record. If you are asking about SHC, I believe that's Matt Murphy, at least doing the lead bit at the beginning.
And Mike, I looooooove "Rubber Biscuit". So there.

VHM APP's most-Floydlike composition,
"Us & Time" "Time & Them" "Time"

Anyone else think this sounds like a re-recording? The production is not sounding like what I recall it sounded like.

to each his own biscuit. Fingernails-on-a-blackboard for me, but I find the original version equally painful.

right. I forgot how much I like this one. another BOS

sounds "real" to me, unlike that weird Rare Earth re-do of "Get Ready" yesterday -- gawd knows where she dug that up.
OMFG! BOS5 Queen's "Play the Game".

Would seem so, at least for the last couple of days. It's a little early to assume the PD has backed off completely but hoping this trend continues.

they were huge on NYC alt-radio (post-1982) but that one did not get much play in the Big Apple. "Killing Moon" was where I came in.

Fingers crossed. He seems to want to work that "KFOG is where you never know what's coming up next" meme, and you can't do that with substandard 10@10s (the original "you never know what's next" feature). It's certainly smart on his part, what with K-Fox, The Bone and The Band pretty much playing the same 300-400 songs endlessly.

Annalisa was actually a bit snappy in her reply. And deservedly so.

Indeed, it was a pretty stupid thing to post in any public forum, but particularly on a message board frequented by a bunch of San Franciscans.
