VHM The Fortunes! Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling: today, as a matter of fact, a hard rain's a gonna fall ;)
-
ooo! Now HERE'S some pop! BOS the Fortunes,
"Cruel to be Kind" "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling". Fab production and one of the best 4 Seasons imitations evah.
Lawd, Sly's got me smiling -- a onetime Moreytrina that gets a VHM .
-
Sly & his Family: you caught me ;D
-
"Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling". Fab production and one of the best 4 Seasons imitations evah.
timely too! S'posed to be a major storm hitting this afternoon. This morning Sal Casteneda was advising people to take public transportation so as not to get stuck in it on the way home.

Sal can be used as a flotation device. (damn, remember when he was skinny?)

Macca can smell yo' feet a mile away, Geraldine! VHM.
-
BOS Macca. I'm in a mood for rock much more than soul today. VHM to everything else though.
-
jeez, this is steadily becoming one of the most persistent katrina's in any year, do ya know what I mean?

But I'm not in the mood for one of the biggest '71 katrinas. WOS Lee Michaels -- one for the "never again" list.

I know what you mean!

(you'll recall the TV show was set in SF)
-
The 'Oo
quite the rarity -- BOS2. We finally got our Chinese New Year "Ox".

From the Morey years it was really the only egregious Katrina in any year up to about '79. One of these days I'll get caught up on the Db again.
And when I said I was in the mood for rock, above, I almost put in "especially something from Who's Next". BOS #2 for "My Wife".

The 'Oo
quite the rarity -- BOS2
I'll BOS this Who song - it's standing out, do you know what I mean?

Did you watch the whole clip? One of Rock's guest stars in this episode is Peter Bonerz!
-
BOS3 Yes -- DUUUUDE!
-
BOS Fortune Seasons.
DHM "You Caught Me Smilin'," that indifferent and careless production bugs me sometimes. PCP's a helluva drug.
-
Dude it's Prog Rock!
BOS #3 Yes "Starship Troopers" that knew the knowledge of the land. Great acoustic guitar bridge.
-
BOS2 YES!
Hey 'Wurm: Who knew hillbilly picking geetar music was proggy?

Bet he'd have to change his name these days.
-
btw, the guitar solo for Freebird fits nicely into this last part of Starship Trooper (Würm)
-
best segue EVAH!
ETA: for those of you catching up later, it was from a news clip of the My Lai Massacre court-martial of Lt. Calley into Floyd "one of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces".

if only he'd pronounced his name BO-ners instead of BON-erz ;)
it's a proggy twin-spin with Floyd on tap.

Or he could be Speaker of The House.

best segue EVAH!
One of these days -- to the MOON, Calley!
-
Interesting segue: Floyd > Hillside Singers for Coke!
-
one mo' fo' the "never again" list -- 3DN and that damn bullfrog.
-
proxy of my old housemate Rich for TDN. Every year around the holidays he'd say, "Who wants to sing some christmas carols? Let's start with 'Joy To The World'." And then of course he'd belt out "Jeremiah was a bullfrog!"
I can see that Mike would've loved to've been there one of those times.

Well, it was the # 1 single of '71 (ribbit)
-
BOS4 Sonny & Cher. --> "Gypsies, Tramps and other politically incorrect slurs"
a gal in trouble is apparently not a temporary thing amongst gypsies.
-
I'm shocked to say that I can't find any Sonny & Cher at all in the old Db. Not even in a HFH set.

He inevitably got most of those present to join in all the way through the first chorus.

Dave once did a Cher "lifetime achievement" medley in a HFH set, pre-database. But yeah, funny that Bob has played Cher more often on the Drive than Dave ever did on KFOG.
