a fine way to start the week.

Put in a late request for Sparks' This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us. What the hay!
-
I'm already tuned in so I don't space and forget. A fine fine year indeed.

Instant BOS to the wonderful "Work To Do" -- nice choice from AWB instead of the overexposed big hits.

Isley Bros?

Isley Bros?
Isleys did the orig in '72.
and AL stays funky with something a bit more obvious: Kool & the Gang go Hollywood.

This is a beautiful song. Really glad to hear it.

Joni's a free man! And David Geffen is Cher's "boyfriend". It's Bizarro World, I tells ya! BOS2

BOS3 muggers and buggerers and Harvey Korman.
least necessary: the Iggles.

and yet someone on FB said "I haven't heard this in YEARS!!"
Best mondegreen of set: "to get caught with Shirley'd be the death of us all" (and this was 6 years before Airplane!)

One of the AWB singers sounds a little Boz Skaggs-y, with that slight
frog haggis in the throat sound. BOSFRA, it's NTM
Yeah for Kool And The Gang ... Hey Hey!
BOS Brownsville Station.
Skating Away is nice, but despite it's Katrina-ness, I would have preferred Bungle In the Jungle.
I like how the bicycle messenger in "impeach" news clip had the most learned sounded answer.
The Dead sound mostly good, but a WOS to Donna Jean Godshoutchaux, for yelling at us at the end of the Scarlet B's:

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!" Donna explains.
I would have preferred a diff song from Lamb, like maybe Lillywhite Lilith

Here's a little bonus stream for the two or three of you that might be interested:

But I always preferred the studio and early live versions of this song. It has really tight rhythmic features which they eventually couldn't keep sharp, and it evolved into a more loping, easygoing piece. The first couple of times I heard it, it was really quite thrilling.
And yes, I liked Donna. I interviewed her once, and found her to be quite a gracious lady, for all the crap that the boys-only-club-types heaped upon her.

Joni was at the height of her powers with this one. She opened with it the only time I saw her (after Wild Things Run Fast in '83) and it completely electrified the house. BOS to Joni and JTull, too, while we're at it. VHM to AWB.
Not sure if it was mentioned, but the Eagles get Most Unnecessary of Set for today. Not even close.
