SG wants her OMD! I'll settle for Jermaine Jackson.
-
Gaz will be shocked that someone specifically requested Macca's "Coming Up" -- "NOT the 'live' version". WTF?
Meanwhile AL was on FB flogging the "Fresh Tracks" you can hear on KFOG after dark. Someone's feeling K-Fox creeping up behind 'em?
-
Rollergirl AL -- she's takin' chances! Well, not really. But BOS1 DS anyway -- an LP I truly loved that year.

AL mentions Walkmen and Rollerblades in the intro before we get Dire Straits Skateaway. I like the verses of this song, but not the choruses.
btw, it seems Rollerblades weren't really in production until 83, so you'd be on your old-style four wheel skates for this one.

insert awesome photo here.
very cute pic... I'd like to grease her hip!
-
Good start with Dire Straits.
VHM Gimme the night. This is what I was listening to back in the day.
and totally pre-1980 and 80, rollerskating old-style in Golden Gate Park. That was so much fun.
-
Even pop/jazzman Benson was doing the disco beat then

hahahaha! great mondegreen -- it's actually "GRAZE her hip" but I used to think the same thing.
VHM Mr Benson, "Gimme the Princess" - Rod Temperton compo that I always assumed MJ discarded.

Woo Hoo! sundaygal gets her "Enola Gay". BOS2. A friend who knew nothing about WWII thought the title was a cryptic message: "enola" spelled backwards is "alone".

Walked into work and turned on the radio just in time to hear this. :)
-
BOS for Ashes to Ashes. I never get tired of this one. There's an awesome live version of it too.
-
VHM Bowie -- we know Major Tom's a funky junkie.

I have clear memory of seeing this Bowie video shown at The Ritz dance club in NYC in early 80s:

I love Dolly, but this is a 10@10 'trina by now -- be nice to hear "Jolene" in its respective year ('74).
-
BOS Dolly, the working girl

kind of fitting, no?
Turn on my V.C.R.
Same one I've had for years
James Brown on the T. A. M. I. show
Same tape I've had for years
I sit in my old car
Same one I've had for years
Old battery's running down
It ran for years and years
Turn on the radio
The static hurts my ears
Tell me where would I go
I ain't been out in years
Turn on the stereo
It's played for years and years
An Otis Redding song
It's all I own
-
Very cool!!!! BOS Private Idaho. Thanks AL!
-
I'll give another BOS for the B52s. Super fun show at the Mountain Winery last summer.
-
BOS2 Private Idaho. Perfect party song!

unlike Dolly herself...

also unnecessary, "Private I da 'ho" -- someone on FB asked for "Quiche Lorraine", a bustout I'd've preferred.

was just reading about Behind My Camel. It won a grammy for Rock Instrumental in 82! (weird qualifications allowing compositions in late 80 and 81 to be considered). Andy Summers played bass and Stewart Copeland played drums, reluctantly. Both Sting and Copeland hated the song.

Is Rick gonzo? I heard the guy in his spot last night on the way home. Didn't think too much of him.
-
Whoa, haven't heard this since the Eighties, for sure. I'm totally wired!
-
Is Rick gonzo?
if you mean "gone".. you haven't been paying attention here for the past couple weeks ;) He's on K-Fox now; see the local radio thread.

VHM William Hurt in Altered States.
"Cuban Slide" is from '80? it wasn't on an LP until '81. B-side, perhaps.

Indeed I have not been paying attention. I've been working feverishly here for the last couple months, and it's likely to continue for another couple. But I'm making some time today :-). Really good set today, I gotta say.
