Done!

We've also gotten the usual requests for Santana's "Winning", "Bette Davis Eyes", "The Tide is High", "Under Pressure" (suggestion: turn on KFOG and wait 15 minutes) and Rush.
-
I decided to Google my WTF selection. It actually kind of jams, and it's certainly more entertaining than "Winning":

"Bette Davis Eyes" at least is not a KFOG regular, while one could argue that "The Tide Is High" and "Under Pressure" are legitamitely awesome songs. But "Winning" is possibly the worst Santana has to offer (with the possible exception of "Why Don't You And I").

What makes "Winning" so bad is that Santana, who at least has become identified with his Peter Green derived tone, cops Mark Knopfler big time. It's unbecoming of such a talented, if not totally original, guitarist.

I like "Winning". It's on my guilty pleasures list. Please don't kick me out of the club! ;)

I recommend the original version by Russ Ballard (orig of Argent) who wrote it and also wrote a wide variety of tunes for everyone from Roger Daltrey to Hot Chocolate to America and even Ace Frehley's "New York Groove" (!)

AAAACK! Well, we're getting Rush out of the way early, at least. WOS, but of course.
-
Oh, Canada ...

What's the fuss all aboot?

Geddy sings and dogs' heads explode.
Unnecessary: "Freeze Frame". Hey, let's finallly have a #1 hit and then break up!
-
HM "Freeze-Frame." This and "Centerfold" were my introduction to the J. Geils Band.

They did at least one post-Wolf album; I remember a single called "Concealed Weapons" getting slight airplay.

BOS1 D2. Nice segue too.
-
Best segue of set: commando Brooke into "Girls on Film."
-
Sheesh -- I love "Girls on Film" but (oddly, since it's not a KFOG staple) Webster played it at 6:30 this morning. And I thought "well, I guess AL will have to cross this off her '81 list..."

have you ever heard the actual "give her a pearl necklace" commercial? I spit out my coffee the first time it aired. Seriously, did no one have the balls to tell poor Tom what it meant??

HM to their ode to Tom Shane.
I'm guessing he's not affiliated with the Shane Company, not to be confused with the Diamond Center.
-
BOS2 Chrissie the "Adultress" --as rare a Pretenders track as I've heard in a while.
-
AAAACK!2: Genesis. I wanna catch a cab to get away from "abacab".

Yes, and I had the same spit-take reaction. For which I'm ever grateful.

It's *that* Tom Shane (still doing radio ads), not to be confused with Paul of the Diamond Center and his goofy TV ads.

I was working my first job in SF (at MetLife) and we used to listen to KFOG all day. There were 3 of us (guys) who all LOL'ed simultaneously.

I guess I'm wrong... it is the same guy. I don't have my Channel 44 commercials filed properly, apparently.
-
BOS3 sundaygal's Stranglers request!
-
This Genesis song is never ending.
Ooh. BOS2 Golden Brown - my 2nd request played. I feel as lucky as TH!
*I meant RG. Dang touchscreen phones!

Nor am I particularly good at uploading images today.

BOS to this NTM "golden brown" song. I'm gonna be late for work b/c I can't pull myself away from this.
-
We talkin' square microwave biz, bitches!
uber-BOS4 Lady T!
you were far from "vanilla", child.
Also unnecessary: da Cars. Actually, Mr Ocasek -- you *are* a quirky jerk.

I'm guessing this is Teena's 10@10 debut?

oh my yes. we've seen quite a few of those in the AL era so far. Hooray for ATBBs!
-
This "Shakin' " song always sounds like "Heat Miser/Snow Miser" to me.
-
BOS1 to Rush, of course. Finally .. accessible Neil Peart's lyrics we can all relate to... if you're a world famous geeky Canadian drum machine, that is.
Pretenders: saw them in 82 and it remains of my best concert experiences to this day
Cars: saw them in 82 and it remains of my most mediocre concert experiences to this day
and BOSquareBiz - thank you AL for playing Teena Marie! I prefer this one to Lovergirl so I'm glad she waited.

I bet AL fudges some of these votes just to mete out justice. She's like us, awarding BOSes left and right as she sees fit.
