Some good suggestions on FB, tho' that woman who requests "Hey Jude" every. single. time. is kinda pushing it.

But she REALLY REALLY LIKES THAT SONG. Never mind that she can hear it on almost any station that plays oldies (including KFOG).
-
No surprise that we begin with "Ride My SeeSaw", which got multiple requests on FB.
-
Moodies: Great musicians ... lousy poets.
-
rare Jimi? BOSFRA.

Maybe a new theme set suggestion -- every February 29th, Songs Everybody Really Really Likes, Are Admittedly Great, But Nobody Ever Really Needs to Hear Again.
Hey Jude
Stairway to Heaven
etc...
-
rare Jimi? BOSFRA.
That would be MY suggestion. Guitar greatness.
SRV covers in '85.

rare Jimi? BOSFRA.
Jimi - Let The Good Times Roll (was a request on AL's FB)

Jimi - Let The Good Times Roll (was a request on AL's FB)
My first fb suggestion ever to get played. But then, I rarely make one, and usually at 9am the day of when I do.

ABC had them on to do "mini-debates" during the conventions. Amazing TV.

Not going to say anything bad about LZ, but this was awesome. BOS2.
-
what's the frequency, Dan and Walter? Amazing TV too.
But "Suzie Q" is rather unnecessary, IMHO.
-
Actually, pretty much any Beatles #1 song would qualify for Rod's suggested category.
Also:
Rock The Casbah
Can't Get No Satisfaction
Electric Avenue
Every Breath You Take

Get your guitars on, AL!
This recording always has some weird artifacts for me, with strange sounds in the middle field. Pretty much unlistenable. Is it just me?

I've never understood this mid-song vocal break. WTF are they saying?
While .. While ... We ... Sing?
oh, who cares.

too much stereo separation for one thing. Who do they think they are, the remixed Beatles?
-
BOS3 "Slip Away", tho' it's hardly a rarity.
-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cbd-pjcpRus

-
BOS4 Stevie, "Shoo-Be-Do-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-dah-Day".
He is really the clavinet king. Good song.
-
OMFG: BOS5 Ms Nyro's orig "Stoned Soul Picnic". Trains of possum, er, I mean blossoms!
"Atlantis" was a hit in the spring of '69 -- I meant to point that out when someone requested it on FB. But here it is anyway.
-
Atlantis - Donovan

Eff Buddy Hackett -- my mom says she and my father once encountered him on a cruise ship in the hallway or something, and they tried to engage him, but he was dismissive. yes. it's an unfair assessment based on one little encounter where a non-celeb expects the celeb to be "on," but I'm taking my moms' side.
I wonder if Donovan and Al Stewart ever shared the stage? That would be one softly-spoken, affected, sibilant set!
-
Time to retire this Barbarella clip.
BOS6 Judy Collins covering Joni. Gawd how I loved this back then.
-
I wonder if Donavan and Al Stewart ever shared the stage? That would be one softly-spoken, affected, sibilant set!
add Neil Tennant and your head might explode.

All you need is Nick Drake and you'd have the Trifecta!
-
BOS7 the pre-fab four. I love her valleri -- in fact, it's the most beautiful valleri I've ever seen.

Pet Peeve #342: Monkeys and apes are not the same thing.

Pet Peeve #343: AL said the Stevie tune was a #1; Whitburn sez #9.

You're both right: it was # 1 on U.S. R&B chart, but hit #9 on the U.S. Top 100 singles.
