Hey, hey it's '83! Got my Belle Stars request in, as well as Young Guns (Go For It) by Wham! Eh, why not?
-
The 22nd is my son's b-day, and I think Annalisa is going to give him a shoutout. So if she plays "Belly of the Whale" for Adrian, you'll know why.
Unfortunately we won't be able to hear it as we'll be at the 9:45am matinee of Tron Legacy (!). Definitely be listening to the replay though.

I just 2nded the Belle Stars. Tho' I think I got my request quota for the month with today's Winter mix.
-
Happy B-Day Adrian shray! We in de belly of de whale, mon! VHM.
-
Happy Birthday Adrian! From what I remember, I don't believe today is his 27th birthday :P
-
it's a Moreytrina twin-spin: "Belly/Whale" followed by "Feeling Fascination"
-
Happy Birthday, Adrian!~
BOS to Human League. I loved this video!
-
Bono doesn't know his right from left. And neither do the producers of his "Spiderman" musical, apparently. BOS1, "2 Hearts"
-
HM to Paul Hewson, David Evans and those other two guys in the band with weird names
-
DUUUUUDE! VHM Def f---in' Leppard.
-
BOS1 - Photograph. A guilty pleasure fo sho.

BOS1 - Photograph. A guilty pleasure fo sho.
oh yeah.. me, too!
this song is just plain good.
-
Ride, Sally Ride! "She's a Beauty"... er, cheap segue there, AL. Not to mention a major 'trina. Why would I lie?
-
HM to the Human League. Yeah it's a Trina but a personal fave. Was supposed to be on our wedding playlist, but we got stuck with the DJ's Trinas.
-
BOS2 Promises, Promises. This song just reeks of 1983.

She's A Booty is another one I never tire of. Some good guitarin' going on in this and the Def Leppard.
-
BOS2 Naked Eyes, always nice to hear "P,P" instead of "ASTTRM"
-
BOS to the chicken-scratch guitar of Naked Eyes' "Promises Promises."
-
HM to the Human League. Yeah it's a Trina but a personal fave. Was supposed to be on our wedding playlist, but we got stuck with the DJ's Trinas.
Sister in law got married in a lagoon in Belmont Shores (SoCal, bear Long Beach). She was rowed to the ceremony in a little rowboat. She gets to shore and meets up with her father, who walks her to the altar.
it was supposed to be all dramatic and everything, but the deejay played You Light Up My Life. We were all like WTF? Turns out the deejay lost the playlist and just winged it.
FAIL.
BOS to Naked-ize!
-
BOS3FRA to the Blue Nile's "Tinseltown in the Rain". One of the bustouts of the year (and we've seen some doozys this year)
-

It's an awkward situation... I was kinda pissed that we had to listen to "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Celebration", amongst others I'd just as soon forget, but on the other hand, it was my wedding night, so I couldn't get TOO upset. Still, I really wanted to hear the Human League, the Killers and the Gorillaz. So it goes.
-
VHM Prince, parking his, er, car sideways. Keep yer stick to yerself, purple man.

You Light Up My Life? Celebration??? I would've been one postal bride!
-
I missed it, but BOS to Burning Sensation. And happy birthday Adrian!
BOS2, Prince.

btw, Blue Nile's "Tinseltown in the Rain" contains the lyric "There's a red car in the fountain"

-
BOS3 Echo & The Bunnymen, VHM Prince
-
Oh My, another BOS to Echo & The Bunnymen's Back Of Love
-
least-necessary: SRV. Sorry, but if he were still alive he wouldn't turn up on 10@10 hardly ever.
-
VHM SRV.

doesn't mean he's not good :)

Since SRV was what I was listening to most in the 80's, I would have to disagree.

yes, he was on my playlist, too. He was all over the rock stations then. I was thrilled to see him on Austin City Limits around that time. And then I got to see him in concert twice: he opened for Dire Straits in Toronto (1985) and then I caught him in his post-rehab stage in NYC. I thought he was better the first time.
-
Uber BOS of the year to the Blue Nile.
Echo and the Bunnymen and Naked Eyes also get BOS's.
-
Adrian did get to here the intro...I brought my MP3 player which also has FM radio & headphones to the theater on the off chance that we'd still be viewing trailers as 10:00, and I was right. But the movie was just starting, so after the first few bars of BotW we focused on the flick. Will listen to the whole set on the replay.

Ahhh...I die!!! That song still rules.
YouTube is the best thing ever, I swear. I remember taping the Belle Stars video off of California Music Channel on KOFY. We couldn't afford cable TV back then.
-
waiting rather impatiently for the replay to start. it's more than 10 minutes overdue.
....ahh, finally!

That's been not uncommon lately. Last night's started at like 10:08, and I've heard some in recent months kick off as late as 10:15. It's like Big Rick has a certain list of songs he has to play, and until they're done he's not turning it over to 10@10. And I still think he's voice-tracking the last couple hours of his show.

Hrm... you'd almost think they're being paid to play some of these "new" tunes (that are never heard the other 21 hours of the day).

In that case, at least pay-for-play is being put to a good use, for once!

last night certainly supports that theory. KFOG ran a good 6-7 minutes of ads from a couple minutes of ten to roughly five after, then they played (w/o any DJ intro) two more songs both NTM & sounding very 2010-ish. Replay started at 10:14.

I'm calling them "schizo-FOG" these days -- it's like they're 2 diff stations day and night.

That's pretty much how the lead-in to Tuesday night's went as well.

It's pretty much every nite; granted, I prefer that to starting it 12 mins early (used to happen whenever I really wanted to hear a replay from the beginning) but it is one of those things that makes you go "hmmmm".
