Let me know how many requests AL gets for Steam.

My random pick for this set is "Curly" by the Move. Not-so-random selections include Tommy Roe, Crosby/Stills/Nash, and Kenny Rogers/First Edition.

As of this moment, none, but there have been two requests for "Rattlesnake Shake", which seems odd. Methinks she won't play the LOOOOOOOOONG version (isn't it about 22 minutes?)
-
AL hinted I may get my Joe South request. I also asked for Tammy Wynette and Neil D.
-
Geoff has requested "Searching for Madge/Fighting for Madge"

AL doesn't do palpable anger much. And '68 is better for that anyway.
was it the studio "Volunteers" or the Woodstock version?
-
kudos on hearing Frank Reynolds/Jules Bergmann for a change rather than the usual Cronkite.
"Space Cowboy" --> "Space Oddity". Oy 2. ::)

Gaz: at a work mtg last week I met a former attorney for Jeff Starship and other SF bands, Bob Heywood. In our side conversation about his rock days, he mentioned that in '79 he had co-written a rock opera with Marty Balin, "Rock Justice" http://www.filmbaby.com/films/3185
And: http://www.answers.com/topic/rock-justice-1980-album-by-various-artists
-
BOS2 to the Turtles' "You Showed Me," lovely little McGuinn tune.
-
BOS the Turtles, even tho' AL's played it before (as one of my first requests earlier this year, actually). It's not a trip... at all!

I've heard of that rock opera! I didn't know it had seen the light of day. Thanks!

It's not a trip... at all!
We might have already discussed this, but I hear that line as "It's not a TRICK at all." As in, you showed me a magic trick.
-

And I'll have to remember to request the Lightning Seeds' cover the next time 1997 rolls around.
-
if we get a "When I Die" twin-spin (BS&T into Motherlode) I'll plotz.
-
BOS2 to the Turtles' "You Showed Me," lovely little McGuinn tune.
Saw McGuinn perform that one in-person last week and Turtles' Howard Kaylan is a FB friend (hey, he can be your friend too).
-
OMFG! "Sausalito"! BOS2FRA -- you gotta GO there!
and from Sausalito to "Mendocino". Play that organ, Auggie! BOS3 to an all-time fave of mine.
-
The Ohio Express - Sausalito !
-
OMFG! "Sausalito"! BOS2FRA -- you gotta GO there!
I'd rather go to Mendocino with the SDQ!
-
The Ohio Express - Sausalito !
And we continue further up Highway 1 to Mendocino. As the hippies escape the Haight.

I'd rather go to Mendocino with the SDQ!
indeed, but any "Sausalito" song that doesn't involve geographically-challenged Europeans is fine with me.
VHM the GW, coming undone.
-
"obscene languages" -- you mean there's more than one?
VHM Doors. HM Charlie Crist.
-
Jim Morrison gets Florida pardon
-
DHM to "Wild Child," one of my least favorite Doors songs. Would have MUCH rather gotten "Soft Parade" or "Touch Me."
-
Would have MUCH rather gotten "Soft Parade" or "Touch Me."
Oh My Yes on "Soft Parade" -- if AL can play 9 ponderous minutes of Pink Floyd she can surely play "SP". Next time. And next time for "Games People Play".... maybe.
my current '69 wish list -- only the Turtles tune has been played since AL started taking requests:
Brother Love’s Traveling…/Holly Holy
No Matter What Sign You Are
Choice of Colors
Oh Me Oh My
Brand New Me
Sugar on Sunday
You Showed Me
Games People Play/Walk a Mile in My Shoes
Onion Song
She Belongs to Me (Rick Nelson)
Mr Sun Mr Moon (Raiders)
Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town
Stand By Your Man
Black Pearl
When I Die (Motherlode)
Soft Parade

This is one of the only times, if not the first, that AL has done a 60s set on a Friday, which was about the ONLY day of the week DM would ever do them. Can't bitch though, as AL visits the 60s a whole lot more often than Dave did during his last 7 or 8 years on the air.
