always a YAY for '68.
Some fine suggestions for a change, tho' someone here who shall remain nameless asked for "Time Has Come Today', which we just heard 3 weeks ago (the looong version)in the time-change set. (yes, I'm officially a curmudgeon)
-
Lawd! Miss Etta sez "Tell Mama!" Instant BOS!
mama want you to "Think" -- rare instance when Ree-Ree suffers in comparison to what came before. To-the-Bone VHM only.
-
THAT was funny. BOS Nixon morphing into HAL9000.
I'll give an HM for Cream's "Politician", but I don't like this song.
-
Bwahahaha! Tricky Dick to HAL segue, followed by "Politician"! BOS2. AL is hot today.
-
"Surely we have now learned the lesson ..."
and don't call him Shirley.
VHM Deep Purple when they were a tad more interesting than they ended up.
proxy of geoff, Rod the Mod and Beck the wreck -- they ain't superstitious.

BOS from me.
is this the classic Mach I version? They went through several rocking variations.
-
BOS3 "Savoy Truffle", which missed out on the food set.

ETA: the diamond-shaped candy (upper left) is the savoy truffle that inspired the song.

Quite nice.

This is apparently legit, but If I didn't know better I'd swear it was a joke from How I Met Your Mother -- a band Robin's dad once belonged to.

VHM "Hold My Tights"

I'm digging this Johnny Nash-sounding (is it him?) pop-reggae more than the Buffalo Springfield hippies, but even that gets HMFRA. We like the rarities.
-
BOS6 BBs, "Friends", dim-dim-de-lee, dim-dim-de-loo.
"I talked your folks out of making you cut off your hair..."
-
Cool Beach Boys song, NTM!
-
BOS7 and proxy of Gaz, Spanky and Our Gang, "Like to Get To Know You".
-
Great set for comedy! Smothers Brothers, Steve Martin AND Rowan and Martin.
-
another BOS to late 60s breezy pop, Spanky & Our Gang -- god, what a horrible name they chose.

I like them much better now, than I did then, and it's still kinda obvious the record company said "get us a Mamas & Papas-sounding group with a fat chick!"
-
VHM.

Status Quo -- from what I've read, they've been around for decades -- they might even still be together playing the oldies circuit -- but this was their biggest hit by far. great song, Cracker Van Beethoven covered this nicely.
