The Boardwalk plays Tom Jones' version of "Black Betty" (!)

ETA: and kudos to them for playing the loooong LP version of "Smooth Operator".  Love in seven languages, indeed.

JJ on KPOO plays the "sookie-suck you" version of "One Monkey...". General Johnson would be proud, I'm sure.

Radio de Sebb unearths Tina Turner's little-heard cover of "Whole Lotta Love". A little Percy in her (nut)bush.

Holy s--t! Radio de Sebb plays Bob James' "Westchester Lady", a '70s jazz instrumental that a college radio buddy (who was dating a girl from Westchester who he later married) used to play every time he was on the air.  Haven't heard this in a dog's age.

Dunno who it is, but someone doing a cover of Barry White's "You're the First, You're the last..." as a ballad. Inspired idea -- it plays like a sequel to Gladys/Pips' "You're the Best Thing That Ever happened". Kudos to whoever thought up the arrangement.

A superb double play of 2 personal faves on The Boardwalk: The Mavericks' "Dance The Night Away" (NOT the VH tune) followed by George M & Ree-Ree, "I Knew You Were Waiting".

And then comes a swingin' cover of the Iggles' "Heartache Tonight" that beats both the orig and the Conway Twitty country version.  Holy crap, is this Michael Buble?

and now here's the orig James Carr take on "Pouring Water on a Drowning Man", covered in the '90s by Elvis C.

listening to KCDX, first time in a while; just heard Nick Lowe covering John Hiatt's "She Don't Love Nobody" (once a country Top Five for Chris Hillman's Desert Rose Band). Wasn't aware Lowe had done it.

ETA: 10cc's "Life is a Minestrone" makes my day and possibly my week.
