Title: 19 October 2010: Yeah I realize it's a repeat, but NO topic? (1992)

Or maybe we're already drunk in anticipation of a Giants win!

1992 - I had a 10am mtg, but was able to listen to a buffered stream later.  Just finished it.

- I love the Lemonheads' It's a Shame About Ray.  BOS to that simple song.

- good to hear Los Lobos from the Kiko album: Wicked Rain

- the clip from the Twin Peaks TV show was befuddling, as was the series.  I wanted to like it, but gave up after about 12 episodes, finally catching on that there would be no "real" satisfying resolution and David Lynch was just that way.

...BUT!  if you want a decent weather report on Los Angeles, be sure to check out www.davidlynch.com.  Mr Lynch does a video report nearly every day.
ETA: hmm, his site now says "coming soon" -- so never mind on that.

yay! Ren and Stimpy Happy Happy Joy Joy song clips!

Suzanne Vega and Blood Makes Noise

some good guitarin' goin' on w tunes 6,7,8: Screaming Trees, Cracker, Black Crowes

...but it ended on a limp note with Lyle Lovett and Eric Clapton kazoo-fueled San Francisco Bay Blues

Screaming Trees scream '92 to me (Soup Dragons too).

Lovett & Clapton: Can you hear me snoozing at the thought? Clapton I realize has been around forever, and I appreciate his work up through about 1974, but Lovett has always been a guilty displeasure for me. He personifies what is not good about the Austin City Limits scene, at least for me.

Thanks sunday for the Soup Dragons reference - I'll have to request "Divine Thing", or better yet "Pleasure" for the next 1992 go-around.

Suzanne Vega: Didn't really care for "Luka", but the rest of her career has grown on me over time. And the next time '93 comes up, I'll have to request "Low", "Get Off This", or most impressively, "Eurotrash Girl".

And go Giants! Yee haw!

Well, Mike had a meeting, I was making sales calls, Alicat's in NY, and I guess everyone else had other stuff commanding their attention as well. But it is a first, not having someone start a topic sometime while the set is airing, with the possible exception of a holiday set that we weren't expecting.

If I *had* been on-line.. I probably would've bailed. '90s reruns usually don''t float my boat.
