no clues, but perhaps a Loma Prieta Anniversary Set?
OTOH, they announced the new "Live From the Archives" CD lineup this morning -- a chance for shameless self-promotion on 10@10?
(BTW this year they're doing a limited edition vinyl pressing of LFTA)
instant WOS GFR, stompin they feets.
we just did '72 two weeks ago -- WTF?

I don't have a problem with GFR. In fact this is NTM. But I do enjoy Billy Preston a good deal more.

I just lost the stream. Neither the KFOG player nor the WMP link here is working for me.
-
Billy Preston.. this Outa Space is outta sight

I'm not into Ringo's Back Off Boogaloo, even though KMEN swears it was hitbound back in the day:

KMEN..? don't know the station, but it's a great graphic

Giant BOS for Floyd's "Free Four". I've heard this on RadioParadise a number of times, but nowhere else. Big time kudos to AL for pulling it out.

Still working for me.

not the first time she's played it; it's a longtime Drive "Deep Tracks" stream fave.

right, I do recall she had this in a set before. I don't know much of The Pink Floyd's deeper cuts, but I love this.
-
Dude! It's a prog-rock twin spin! I still love Roundabout despite its millions of plays.
-
huzzah for some FOG PROG

Roundabout! With bike lanes! Yes!
(it's Dutch, but they're pretty progressive...)

nope -- not working. Having lost WLNG recently (the problem is NOT at their end) I'm beginning to think Kaiser is systematically disabling individual streams. I am majorly pissed right now.
BTW, I'll be at an off-site conference for the next 3 days, checking in here in the evening. I may have to bring my old walkman to work on Friday. >:(

"What the hell does this mean?"
"It's a Sicilian message. It means Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes."

And then, in keeping with the Italian method of communication via animals, AL plays America's Horse With No
Head Name
the heat was hot.

So, where are the big roundabouts in the Bay Area? My favorite is at the top of Taraval.
-
Another BOS for Carole King deep cut. Not sure I've even heard this before.
-
BOS to Carole King Sweet Seasons
... and a HM to Johnny Nash I Can See Clearly Now. Love this one, esp the bridge.
-
BOS to Carole King Sweet Seasons
indeed, one I was astounded that Dave never played. It'd be my BOS if the stream were working for me.
-
Thanks to Tower of Power for telling me I'm still a young man. Thanks, guys!

Not sure I know that one... There's a good (?) one where 8th street, Townsend, and Division all come together. I bike that one frequently.
A few years back, the City installed some traffic circles along Page Street in the Haight (which is a bike route). But they seemed to appear without much warning, and predictably no one liked them. People don't like traffic engineering changes much -- or change in general -- but drivers in this country especially don't know how to handle traffic circles or roundabouts. (see: that scene in National Lampoon's European Vacation where Clark Griswold spends hours trying to cut across traffic to exit the roundabout.)
another BOS to Jim Croce's Operator
Tower Of Power keeps singing You're Still A Young Man, mainly b/c their buddy Vince Conte hooked them up with some clear and cream.

and now that the set's over... the stream's working again. ARRRRGH!

ah, thanks. both names have the same root, so ... uh ... maybe that's why I got cornfuzzled? because, you know, I speak Latin in my spare time. ;)
victor
mid-14c., from L. victorem (nom. victor) "a conqueror," agent noun from pp. stem of vincere "to conquer,"
Vincent
masc. proper name, from Fr., shortened from L. Vincentius, from vincens "conquering," from vincere "to overcome" (see victor).

Y'know, I thought this set seemed familiar...
Per AL on FB:
"I'm actually out today, so I dug and dug for a replay i thought would sound good. This was originally aired last March and Jim Croce won best-o-set then."
10/18/10 Monday ...an encore 10@10, with the sweet sounds of '72!!

And AL's out tomorrow too...

Back in the day here, it was an FM staple; I guess KSAN at the time.

I know the one Swell is talking about. It's just above West Portal, and connects Taraval, Clarendon, and a couple of other lesser streets that all converge there. I used to pass through it frequently when going from my former Inner Sunset manse to West Portal, the Parkside, or Stonestown.
I think there's a third one in the city that I remember having noticed once upon a time, but damned if I can recall where it is now.
Portland is big on roundabouts. I know of several in various parts of the city.

I often cut through St Francis Woods on the way downtown, and they have a small roundabout with a fountain in the middle of the circle.
-
Curiously, the hills above Hayward have a series of seemingly-unnecessary roundabouts.
Petaluma has a fairly significant one on Ely Blvd.
And I know of at least two busy ones in Berkeley.
But the one that caught me by surprise was actually on Highway 1 in Long Beach - who'd a-thunk it?
-
TANC: Spent the weekend in Bend, doing a tasting at a natural foods market that's crazy about our cheese. And it turns out that Bend is just LOUSY with roundabouts. They must have had a city planner that thought they were the best thing ever for slowing down traffic, because they are all over town. Literally must have driven thru a dozen different ones, and we were only there for just over 36 hours, and did not see half the city. Had to share that.
Interesting town though. Reminded me of So. Shore Tahoe, without the casinos or the lake.
