I loves me some '83!
-
BOS1 China - Red Rockers
(just wished everything in the world wasn't made there...)
-
Choyna, choy-oy-na. Red Rockers showing off an odd accent.
and we're in a big fire in fields of country. Or something.
-
Fields Of Fire - Big Country. This faux bagpipe guitar riff gives me a headache.

could be worse -- could be REAL bagpipes ;)
BOS1, U2
-
UBER BOS2 - Frida -There's Something Going On
(the best thing Phil Collins ever did was the drumming and production in this song)
GREAT request, RG! :)
-
OMFG!!! Frida! uber-BOS2 for a bustout -- amazing that super-ABBAfan dave never played this one despite many suggestions.
No mistaking those Collins drums.

Phunky Phil's work here *almost* makes up for the dreck that followed in the rest of his career.

Never?? That's quite shocking, really.
-
Love this song - but methinks it's more like a Blue Katrina...
Would've loved it if AL played Your Silent Face off of NO's fabulous Power, Lies and Corruption instead.
-
BOS3 New Order, proving how much "New wave dance music" was just disco for geeky white folks (and I say that quite affectionately).
-
New Order's record covers were just as amazing as their music.
-
BOS3 Everything Counts - Depeche Mode
One of my favorite songs by them.
-
VHM Linda Ellerbee, tho' AL played this clip last time around.
BOS4 DM -- "Everything Counts". Bought this 45 on my first trip to London that summer. "the grabbing hands grab all they can" -- the more things change, etc.
-
BOS4 Wishing - The Flock Of Seagulls!!! Can't get more '83 than this one...
-
VHM Crock o'Seagals.
-
WOS Heaven17 - Let Me Go (the 12" dance mix, no less)
-
VHM this odd mix of H-17's "Let Me Go", which AL palyed fairly recently.
-
WOS Heaven17 - Let Me Go (the 12" dance mix, no less)
I'm shocked! I'd've preferred "Fascist Groove Thing", tho'.

Eh, it just never did it for me. This remix is never ending too...
-
BOS5 Whammy Kiss - B-52's (though I would've loved hearing Legal Tender instead...)
-
Urgh. I just woke up to find that I missed my Big Country request, my favorite Depeche Mode song, and my favorite Flock of Seagulls song. (BOS 1, 2, & 3.) Oh well, I'll be sure to tune in at 10 tonight :)

BOS5 Whammy Kiss - B-52's (though I would've loved hearing Legal Tender instead...)
I'll give this a BOSFRA. I dont' think I've ever heard it before. The B52's were really fun at the Mountain Winery this summer.
-
We're on the New Wave tip today. Here's yer B-52's, SG. I don't wanna plant anything on Fred's lips, myself.
-
Breathless...ahhhhhh
BOS6 - X
-
Woo Hoo! BOS5 X, "Breathless-uh!"
-
Woo Hoo! BOS5 X, "Breathless-uh!"
Uh-jinx! Again! Tee hee
-
All this set is missing is After The Fire's "Der Kommisar", in my book the most 1983 of all 1983 hits.

Agreed. VERY '83!

Wow, I missed a good one here. Right in Shray's wheelhouse too - I hope he's doing OK. (He hasn't replied to my last few e-mails; anyone heard from him lately?)
